Update

I decided to write an update about Christmas we are getting ready to get out of town for a couple of days and there has been some exciting things going on so I thought that I would update then update again once we get back. Well we did get everything finished for Christmas of course we bought our last gifts on December 24th but they got done so that’s all that’s important right? Now the Update!

On Friday night I came home from work and I was watching Tiger and I haven’t written about this before but Tiger has had some bladder problems recently. I thought he had an infection and so we put him in the bathroom to watch him to make sure he didn’t get worse. Well we called the vet and told her what was going on and they wanted us to get a “sample” and I was like are you kidding me? Or they said we could bring him and they are very convenient as far as when they are open so we told them we would call them if he got worse. Well he got better a couple of days he was ready to leave the bathroom he was eating and playing fine. Well he came in one evening and he started to squat on my shoes, the air vents, the carpet but nothing was happening. Well I was like uht oh that’s not good. Well I was like this is no good and I was kind of just waiting to see what happened. I called to talk to the vet and the vet said they were going to be open over the weekend. So I was trying to find someone that would take him on Saturday and everyone was pretty much closed so my only solution was taking him to the emergency clinic in Lafayette. We took him and they basically said that he was in critical condition and they would have to do all of these things to him and the estimate was VERY expensive and they said that they really needed an answer because they would take him back and get started on him. I looked at Tait and I told him that I just didn’t then we could afford it. It was a horrible choice to make I hate basing decisions based on if we can afford it but we just couldn’t. So we choose to put him down. It was very sad and I cried. The lady at the clinic told me that I made the right decision and that really didn’t help it made me feel worse actually. So it was a sad beginning to the weekend.

On Christmas Eve Lehna woke and we noticed that the house was pretty chilly. We had turned the thermostat up and we could hear it kick on but the fans weren’t kicking on. This was at two in the morning that this happened sooooo Tait got up and I put Lehna in the bed with me just to try to keep us warm. Well Tait called his parents and Tim wasn’t sure what was wrong with it so Tait started calling furnace places to come fix it. Mind you it was 2 in the morning and he did get a hold of a company that has fixed our furnace before and they said they were currently on a call but as soon as they got done they would come to our house. So until then Tait was in the front room waiting for them to show up and Lehna and I were snuggled together in the bed of course when you sleep with a two year old next to you there really isn’t much “sleeping” involved she kicked and twisted and turned for hours. Well then the furnace guy came at 6 am and he was there not more than an hour. In the hour he was able to get the furnace running again but he was explaining what was wrong with it to me and he told me that b/c of the type of furnace this is and how old it is he said that we really need to replace it. Soooooo So much for windows this year, so we talked to him about what type of furnace we need to get and he gave us the application for the financing and said he would call us to give us an estimate and all that jazz. So I was VERY grateful for the guy to come and fix the furnace on Christmas Eve at 6 am in the morning. I told Tait that they are the people we are going to use from now on b/c this is the only time this has happened and they were more than willing to come and help us.

So Christmas came and it was wonderful. Lehna was so cute the entire time. She enjoyed unwrapping the gifts and she was into it. We would have to get her attention to unwrap more then she would get the toy or whatever and want to play with it instantly and I kept telling her that she has to wait until we get them all out. So she would wonder back to open more then wonder away it was pretty cute. She of course did VERY well as far as gifts everyone was VERY generous so thank you very much. Our living room is now piled again with toys. We are going to have to move some things around very quickly to get things settled before the baby gets here!

The kitchen Lehna got was GREAT I thought it was only going to be a few pieces to put together HECK no it wasn’t! It took 2 ½ hours and 54 different screws that didn’t count all the “snap together pieces” so it took awhile but she was so cute when we finally got it open and set up. She ran over to it and pushes the microwave and goes Beep beep Beep and shuts the door very cute! She also plays with the food puts it on the plate then walks over to sit in the chair to pretend to eat. It was a huge hit! So it was worth the 2 ½ hours of labor to put it together. She also got a few dolls, doll bed, stroller, shopping cart, and lots of food to play with at her kitchen. So she is all set!

Baby B even got a few things. She got a picture frame, diapers, and transition cup. So I’m sure Baby B thanks you too once she realizes what’s going on. I can’t wait until she gets here not only because I will no longer be pregnant but also b/c I think she will be a nice addition to our circus!

We went to Peru for Christmas Eve so we were able to stay until Christmas night and we left early the 26th so I could go back to work. It was nice being able to stay with the Wagner’s I didn’t play bingo which is really a shocker since usually we go to play bingo when we get there. We got to see my side of the family Christmas afternoon. It was great. We played the gift exchange game at Grandma’s and I was impressed the exchange level definitely came up a bit. So that was nice I think the $50 incentive helped! The gift that got exchanged the most was of course alcohol Steven created a Hot Chocolate kit and it had peppermint schnapps, chocolate, and a few other things in there but it was stolen a lot, but second was the gift certificate I BROUGHT! Yeah for Red Lobster! It was big hit well next to the alcohol. Steven said that since he was donating the $50 he didn’t want to win the money so he gave it to me! So now we had $50 to go to Red lobster since the damn card got stolen from me SEVERAL times… even Tait was trying to keep it but still it didn’t help. We played an additional twist to the game… we had a “mystery prize” where we couldn’t unwrap the gift but you could trade for it and it wasn’t going to get opened until the VERY end and we also had a “chance” card you had to pull once all the trading was over which the chance card could say simply Merry Christmas or it could say Trade presents with the Mystery Presents, or Everyone must trade two presents to the right or something like that. It definitely made the game more interesting the last switch was of course at the VERY end and we all “thought” we were going to end up with great presents but it didn’t matter much. It was fun though. After we did the game we did the traditional picture. We moved rooms this year to the front family room only b/c they feared for the floor and it collapsing so they moved it. The picture was of course fabulous you know we always take great pictures! Then we played an 80’s trivia game that took A LONG time to finish. I was ready to end it since I was only not even 10 years old during that time it made it a little more difficult. That was all we played though so I was a little sad about that. We didn’t play any games at Thanksgiving so that was sad that we only played on game. Lehna was very entertained climbing on me then running back around the table to Tait it was kind of funny. She had like a sugar rush though she started to jump on my legs and bang her head and stuff it was like the sugar took hold of her it was crazy. Heather kept taking her from my lap since she was sooooo hipper. By the time it was time to go home she crashed. She fell asleep on Tait and we got her home changed her clothes and she was out for the count.

On Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese for Camryn’s birthday. Lehna ran around again like a crazy fool but she was good it she didn’t throw a fit or anything. She definitely didn’t want “help” for anything though she would go “I want up” to different things when she couldn’t climb up them by herself but she would attempt to climb on her own first. By the time we were ready to go she was pretty ready as well. She would want to go back to table to get drinks of pop and then want to leave to go run around again. It was funny though b/c every time we put a token in she would get up and want to go somewhere else she wasn’t interested at all at “riding” or playing the games she just wanted to sit on it for awhile then run to the next one. We left and she didn’t cry or anything she was ready to go which made it very easy. Once we got in the car she was still a chatter box and we had gotten some pizza and she wanted some of that and not long after that she was fast asleep. It was nice.

Tomorrow we head for Wisconsin I CAN’T WAIT! I have been waiting for this trip for awhile so it will be fun! Well that’s my update for right now. Nothing too exciting nothing over the top, I will update once we get back from Wisconsin.
