Lehna's Big Party!

Pretty in Pink

Well this weekend was Lehna's big picnic/blessing and it was A LOT of fun! I think everyone enjoyed themselves! The food was soooooo good. I'm very excited about having leftovers because everything was just SOOOOO tasty! Everyone that helped THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH the food was WONDERFUL and thank you for bringing it! I know Lehna was kind of zonked at the party but I know that that didn't stop everyone from holding the love bug! Oh and now all the grandma's have decided that they want to be called something different so Lehna will be able to distinguish them... so Helen will be called Nanna, Jeanette will be called Granny, and Lydia will be called Grandma. So hopefully that won't confuse poor little Lehna but we'll see what happens... my guess is that she'll call everyone Nanna but we'll see. Of course she'll will have to first learn how to talk... but you know that will come!

Lehna's picnic was really great the weather was fantastic it was a nice 70 degrees. We were in the shade and it was BEAUTIFUL no bugs, no nothing... it was great! I know Lehna was beautiful in her blue dress which looked adorable on her. We all got there about 2:45 ish and fixed the food, ate, talked, and played on the park equipment. Of course there was the older couple (mid 40's) that decided that the park was the place to make out, which was TOTALLY NASTY but other than that it was nice. Marcus talked me into sliding down the slide on my tummy which was kind of scary but it was fun. I think all the little kids had a great time.
Camryn had a nice time she played ball with Marcus and swung on the swings with Christina which I'm sure was nice for her. Landyn was swinging with Camryn and Christina and he fell asleep while he was swinging it was very sweet. After he fell asleep he was out for quite awhile, I think he was pretty worn out.

After the party Tait, Lehna, and I went back to the Wagner's and spent the night there. Lehna had a bath which was quite rough on her since she has this dreadful cough and she was crying and coughing throughout her bath, and she was hungry but
I wanted to give her a bath before she ate so she could drift off to sleep after her bottle.

Lehna was all smiles on Sunday we went to church, and she looked SOOOO adorable in her Pink and white dress. It was so sweet. She was pretty good during her blessing she kind of starting to cry as they were finishing up but she wanted a fresh diaper.
So after they were finished blessing her, Aunt Joyce took her to get a new diaper and she was MUCH happier then. Lehna is VERY picky about having dry diapers so we are always changing her but I'm kind of glad she lets us know or I would always forget to do it.

After her church debut we all went back to the Wagner's and she spent some time with
Nanna, grandpa, and Tanna. Tait and I went to see Star Wars with Trent. It was nice to be able to get out and not have to worry about the baby. I would say overall the weekend was very successful. Tait and I were even pleasantly surprised to come home to a undestroyed home which was a TOTAL shock to us... we thought the dogs would get out of their barricaded rooms and destroy the house... but they didn't which that made the mess they did create soooo much nicer to clean up.

Next weekend we are off to Williamsport. Grandpa and Grandma Wagner want to see Lehna and Tait's cousin Jill is having her graduation party so we will be heading there on Sunday it's just another trip around Indiana! I know Lehna is pretty easy to take places right now so it's not a big deal and there are soooo many people that want to see her and this is less cleaning for me to do when we go places and that is ALWAYS nice. After all I do love to travel! Well that's my update for this week I am
actually going to have pictures put up at the same time as her update goes up so I hope you enjoy them!

She's All Smiles!!

Big Grins for Mom!

Well things are going really well for our family. Lehna is really doing well. I think we may have mastered the spitting up thing by finding just the right combination of things to help Lehna keep her food down. Lehna is now on Soy and Rice to help thicken up her formula a bit and it seems to help SOOOOO much! So I'm hoping that it stays that way.

Overall Lehna is really starting to develop and grow. She is out of some of her newborn sleepers already and we are slowly starting to work her into the 3-6 month clothes.

Most of you know that Lehna is going to be blessed on Sunday and we are having a cookout to help celebrate it. So on Saturday there will be a cookout in Peru for Lehna's honor. I can't wait for her blessing I know that it will be so wonderful for her and our family. Her Uncle Don will be giving her her blessing and I
have asked some of the men that I grew up with to stand around her. It's really strange because I keep having this dream in which all of my family are standing around her Marcus, Kris, Tait, and Dad and they are giving her her blessing which makes is kind of odd but it makes her actual blessing special. We have a very pretty dress that we are going to put Lehna in it's this very sweet blue dress with flowers BUT since Lehna has grown sooooo much we have a back up dress just in case her dress doesn't fit her... my plan this evening is to go through and try on her blue dress and if it doesn't fit then I am going to try the other dress on, which I KNOW will fit! Well at least it better it's 3-6 MONTHS! So I have some options. I know that Lehna is going to have quite a crowd of people to come and see her being blessed which should make it quite interesting at church this Sunday.

I also wanted to let everyone know that Helen is making QUITE a feast this weekend. We were talking about what all needs to be gotten and she of course is going up
and beyond her call of duty for us which is VERY nice of her and I do appreciate it. So make sure you come hungry b/c there is going to be TONS of food. I am hoping to take lots of pictures also so make sure you bring your smiles!

I have to let everyone know that Lehna is now starting to giggle well it's more of a squeal but it's VERY sweet and it's funny b/c she kind of shocks herself after she does it. But for the past two mornings as I was getting Lehna ready for daycare she would be on her changing table just kicking and playing and just smiling and
squealing. I just love it! So I'm very excited about that. She will also respond to you if you smile at her and just talk to her she'll just smile back at you. She's such a very content baby. Lehna's latest pictures do not do her smile justice these pictures were taken mid-smile the digital camera would take as fast as film camera so I will be anxious to see the film pictures since they took faster. I know that when the grandmas see her this weekend they are really going to be shocked on how much she's changed and grown! Well I think that's all I have fore her update now I know next weeks will be a lot bigger since there will be pictures and everything! Until then!

Thumbs Up!!

I've Been Working on the Railroad!

Well okay, it's not the railroad but I have started back to work. My official day back was today and for the most part it hasn't been to bad. I have called the daycare two times to see how things are going there, and Penny (the lady that's with Lehna) is very excited to have her in the class. She has been taking lots of pictures of her which is kind of fun. Things are going pretty well for Lehna and they said that she is a very happy baby with a nice disposition, so I was proud to hear that.

Now I have to send out a MILLION thank-yous to Jackie for keeping new pictures added to the site. I do have some to add and I am going to try to put them on CD tonight. It will just depend on how much time it takes for Tait to wrestle Lehna out of my arms tonight! I know that I haven't been keeping this very updated and I have been slacking A LOT, but it was nice just being with Lehna and taking care of her.

We have had some sad news over my six-week maternity leave. Recently, my stepmother Teresa Marie Knotts passed away quite unexpectedly. She was admitted into the hospital and in less than 24 hours and she passed away. She developed sepsis and it quickly attacked her organs, which then took her life. Teresa was very excited to be a grandmother and had loved being able to see Lehna. Teresa had come to stay with us for about four days after Lehna and I came home from the hospital. I'm glad that Lehna got to have that time with her. She can now tell my dad that she got to hold Lehna on earth, because I know Dad was holding her before she got here. I know that both she and Dad will now get to have the best seats in the house and get to watch Lehna grow up and change.

It's amazing just how precious life is and just how fast life can change and I'm grateful for every day that I am given. It's amazing just how much you can really love your child. I know that I never believed people when they said that they would lie down in front of a car for their children. I know now that with Lehna you really do love your children just that much. Lehna is so wonderful and it really has been amazing watching her change just in the month and a half she's been here. Lehna is already starting to hold her head up. She holds it up and just looks around sometimes I have to remind her that she's just a baby. She also tries to pull herself up when you hold your hands out in front of her she just grabs on and pulls. She’s a very strong little girl.

I think one thing that is really fun is when you give her a bath she kind of scoots away from the water if you add water to the tub or if you use the sprayer (which she hates). I had to find that out the hard way. You can just tell she is just absorbing so many things and is learning so much it's really wonderful. I love taking her outside and just letting her hear the birds and feel the grass. I know that when I take her outside the neighbors come over and talk to us (which are the neighbors I really like, so it's okay). It's just really great... it's hard to believe that she will be walking and talking so soon. Well this is a shorter blog but my first day back has brought lots of work for me so I will update again. Hopefully I'll get the pictures done tonight we'll see... Thanks for reading about us!
