Welcome to another update

I am updating early this week exciting isn’t it! So let’s get to it!

This weekend was really nice Tait, Lehna, and I ventured out in the snow on Saturday and was able to get the rest of the things that I would need for baby Maya’s appearance. We went to Toy R Us to get the mighty tight and a couple of new monitors for Maya’s room and we also picked up a few pacifiers for Maya.

As we were walking back to the front to check out Tait and I stopped to look at the Quo blocks that Lego makes. Kris and Christina got these blocks for Lehna for Christmas and let me tell you every night we are playing with the blocks. We like to make the towers really big and then have Lehna knock them down! She gets really excited about it when we break them out. She tries to help us put them together but usually gives up after a few blocks and starts knocking down the three she just put down. So she will watch us put them together. We were going to pick up some more b/c we just enjoy playing them but we decided not to get them since we figured that they were more for us then for Lehna. So we got Lehna a new baby doll instead.

This of course was a hard task since most of the babies that they make now are so freaking ugly. She of course didn’t care what the baby looked like she was just excited to see them so she was saying over and over “baby baby baby” she’s so baby crazy. So we let her pick a baby out and we went to the mall.

I purchased Tait this golf game that he said he wanted well apparently he didn’t want it so he took it back to the store. His game player wouldn’t read it but even then he just didn’t like it he said “it’s just not what I expected it to be” was his exact words. So he exchanged it for another game. After that we ate out and then we went home. It was a pretty productive day for the most part. I got home and got allll the laundry done which was a nice feeling and wrote down my shopping list for Sunday.

Sunday came around and we went grocery shopping. I enjoy shopping but I like it better when I have a list then I don’t end up with like 12 boxes of noodles but no main dishes or something like that. So planning out the menu for the week was helpful b/c now I don’t even have to “think” about what we are having b/c I already know. Of course trying to come up with the menu was a little rough I mean I just can’t think of things to fix when I have to just think of stuff. So I referred back to a recipe book that my Aunt Joyce made for all of us and that really helped b/c I was able to get ideas for it and create a menu with things we mostly had the stuff for. I mean there were a few things that I had to get but it will be nice to use up some of the items in my cabinets that I just don’t know what to do with. That’s another problem I have is I will read a recipe and be like “yeah that sounds great” and go out and get all the things I need and we will either not eat in the day I have it planned OR I will decide to do something else for dinner then all the things that I purchased go to waste b/c I don’t end up using the ingredients b/c I decide not to use the recipe. So this book is like a recipe book of dishes that I actually have the items like “normal” meals. I usually will look for recipes when it’s like a big dinner and I want to make something “new” that of course NEVER turns out. I know that’s what I struggle with. I guess I just didn’t pay close enough attention when my mom would cook for us every night b/c I just simply can’t think of things to fix or know how to fix them. That’s why this book is so helpful b/c it’s like recipes that like my grandma and mom use like on a daily basis!

On the family front Lehna is doing better with the hitting battle. She still hits when she’s mad but we have really put our foot down and made her stand in time out once a warning has been issued. We have also changed her time out a little bit. We make her go stand and face the wall for 2 minutes and then we release her after she apologizes of course. I talked to the daycare on Friday of last week asking if she had been hitting there and they said no that she doesn’t hit at all at daycare so I was glad to hear that. I also asked about how often she was put in time out b/c lately Lehna hasn’t been responding to time out instead she plays with the wall and sings and stuff when we sit her down and that’s not quite the reaction that I would like from her. I want her to at least cry or something but she just wasn’t doing that. So they said that making her stand by herself really had a good affect on her so that’s why we changed her time out. Of course this weekend she cried the first time but now she doesn’t care when you put her in time out… she doesn’t like it and will kind of pout at first but then after she gets standing there for a few seconds she usually just starts playing with wall and staring at the ceiling. I mean the only thing I can think to do is just keep doing it and eventually it will sink in.

Maya has been kicking the crap out of me lately. Last night I lay down on the floor with Lehna while she slept in her bed to wait for her to go to sleep and Maya kept kicking me over and over. I told Tait that I can’t lay in there any more. I was so uncomfortable. I don’t like feeling like I can’t do things but I think I have to draw the line. Tait didn’t want me to go in there but I like to be able to help too. I mean I’m pregnant not on my death bed! I have to tell you I have a feeling that this baby is going to make an early appearance. I don’t know just how early but I think some what early… of course that will probably mean she’ll come LATE b/c that’s how it works.

Tanna is due in just two weeks I wish that she would have hers already b/c then it would mean that I’m like only a month away! She’s getting exciting I think I think she’s about where I am and just ready for it to be over with. I know that this is going to be my last baby so I am trying to enjoy the process as much as possible but it’s kind of hard when I know that it’s so much better once they are here! I don’t know it’s a strange situation.

I have the go ahead to call all my clients and start letting them know that I won’t be here for 6 weeks and get the girl who is currently the front office girl trained and put into my position. I know she is nervous but I think she’ll do fine. I know I will enjoy the time being off of work for 6 weeks and it will of course be hard to come back but I really like the daycare so I won’t have the same kind of anxiety that I had with Lehna since I trust Penny with Maya. I think that that makes it much easier for new moms when they trust their daycare.

Well I am adding some pictures to my blog this time so I hope you enjoy them. This is from last week. I apologize I know that I have had my digital camera for about 2 years now and I still suck so I apologize for the pictures for not being good. I have to use the camera more but it’s so frustrating for me to us b/c the delay is so freaking long compared to film that I’m still not used to it. I know I know you’d think two years would be enough but it’s not I know I’m just fullll of excuses. So enjoy the pictures anyway!

The Lonnnnng awaited Update!

I had an update all prepared and I had pictures to go on there as well and I didn’t get it posted so NOW it’s out of date! So I’m starting all over… but enough of the whining let me get to the update!

Jackie came over to our house two weekends ago and helped me get baby Maya’s room ready! It’s FINALLY ready to go and all set up! Jackie was quite the bargain hunter and stumbled across the John Lennon’s baby crib set a 12 piece set for $88 bucks! I was VERY excited! The set included: a crib skirt, bumper, mobile, two shadow boxes, carpet, a shelf, with 2 book ends, quilt, valances, a diaper bag, and lamp. It’s very cool the colors are yellows, blues, greens, and whites. Which the room was already painted white and yellow so it worked really nicely. It looks like the room was painted that way on purpose. It also kind of gives us a “buffer’ just in case baby Maya ends up being a little boy instead! So thank you Jackie for the crib set and thank you for the help in the room. We also were able to go through all the baby clothes and get the clothes hung up and put away in the drawers and let me tell you I have sooooo much pink already for this kid she doesn’t need anything as far as clothes. We have clothes out the wazoooooo! I had forgotten just home much Lehna actually owned! So now that the room is ready I do feel better about it. I was really getting nervous b/c I was afraid that the baby wouldn’t have a place to sleep.

I went on my regular scheduled two-week appointment last week and the doctor said that I was measuring two weeks ahead of schedule. They determine this by holding a tape measure across your tummy from the top of your uterus to the base of well just the bottom. Well then he noticed how much weight I was gaining and said that I gained another 3 lbs. in two weeks. He said that since my blood work came back normal as far as gestational diabetes and my blood pressure was in a good spot that he wants to do another ultrasound to check her size. He said that he’s not too concerned with it he went into this sepal about what the difference is which is basically a two inch difference which he said that you have to use this “normal” sizing for all different size women which makes it harder to judge. But he wasn’t too concerned b/c he did after all schedule the ultrasound for three weeks. Which will be like Feb 26th but he said he wasn’t going to be here the week of the 19th which would be my 2 week normal appointment. Which leads me to believe he’s not toooooo nervous about it b/c if he was then you would think he would do it earlier. Which is kind of exciting if I just gained two weeks without having to actually “earn” them, but it could also mean that she’s just a BIG baby… which you know that has be a bit concerned… I mean Lehna was a small baby and I thought that was pretty well gross the aftermath stuff so we’ll just have to see just how BIG this baby is b/c it may mean worse AFTERMATH which that’s the part that SUCKS about having kids.

Also in the past couple of weeks Tait and I was able to go to Peru to visit Tait’s parents. I was able to play bingo on both Friday and Saturday night which was fun. Of course I didn’t win anything but I was able to come close on two different games both times my number was up in the monitor and then someone else yelled bingo before me! So that kind of sucked but at least I kept it interesting for our table.

This past weekend it was nice Tait and I relaxed and played with Lehna it was so wonderful. We didn’t have to go anywhere nor did we have to do anything, which made it SOOOOO fabulous! I was also able to get the hospital bags ready for the baby and for myself. I don’t have a bag packed for Lehna yet but I’m kind of waiting just a little longer only b/c I need her to be able to wear the clothes that I am going to put away from her. But I am trying to stay up on the laundry and that type of thing to make sure the if baby DOES decide to come early I will at least be a little prepared. Besides if I have to pack Lehna’s bag then that’s fine I mean it won’t take more then 10 minutes to put a bag for her together.

In more recent news Indiana was hit with some pretty hard snow for the past 24 hours it has been snowing, drifting, sleeting, and has created blizzard like conditions. Work was cancelled for me and unfortunately for me I didn’t get the message from my supervisor until I had left two messages on my bosses cell phone stating that I wasn’t going to go in b/c of the weather. Which Lehna and I got to play all day around the house, which was fun. Tait did have to go into work and was sent home shortly after lunch. I called him several times during the day to see how the roads were in town. He kept telling me they were getting worse and worse and was cursing the governor/central office b/c he hadn’t closed all the STATE offices yet. So even though we were under a snow emergency he was able to leave at least half the day. It’s still snowing outside and it’s not supposed to stop for another 10 hours. Which they announced in our county that they were going to pull the country workers off the road at dusk and not bring them back on until the morning. So I talked to my boss just to let him know that I will have to play it by ear as far as getting to work tomorrow. So hopefully the wind will stop blowing when the snow stops b/c then the roads won’t drift shut that’s what I’m most worried about since I take mainly county roads to get anywhere! So we’ll see what happens.

Tait and I took Lehna out this afternoon to play in the snow and I did take pictures unfortunately I can’t get them off the camera right at this second but I will get those off… but I do have some pictures for you to enjoy.

The first pictures are of Maya’s new room. I wanted everyone to see all the hard work that we did on her room.

This is the first night in her bed. She slept so well the first night she didn’t move at all in her bed. Now she’s alllll over her bed when she sleeps she hasn’t fallen out of the bed yet but I’m waiting for the cry from that!

This is a picture of Lehna and on Sunday afternoon I came home from Lafayette to discover my daughter passed out on the living room floor. Tait said she ran herself totally out. She was lying in the mist of all the toys and literally fell over and went to sleep. She slept for a good 2 hours on this nap so it was nice to have some “peace” for a little bit. I did move her back to her bed and she didn’t even budge so she was incredibly tired.

This is another picture of Lehna creating a "mess" for me in the kitchen... she pulled out ALLLLLL the pots in the kitchen and put them all over the floor for me to enjoy... wasn't that nice of her!

Well that’s all the pictures I have for right now. I hope you enjoyed the pictures and I hope to update again really soon! Thanks for reading about us!

Weekly Update!

Well another week has come to an end and it’s time for the weekly update!

Baby appointment.

I had a baby appointment yesterday and well I have gained 9 lbs in ONE MONTH! I was very SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED at this information. The NP asked me if I have had any dietary changes and I was like not really… but I didn’t realize how FAST I was putting it on… so I’m going to SLOW DOWN! She said that it’s normal for women to put on weight between the 2-3 third trimester which is right where I am but she said that now it’s going to be coming on even more so I will need to make “healthier choices” and kind of slow down and I agreed! Mercy me I’m going to be bigger then a HOUSE by the time it gets done with! So I haven’t talked to the doctor about it yet that won’t be for a few more weeks I’m going every two weeks now so I’ll be seeing him next. So we’ll see what he says HOPEFULLY he’ll be kind! But baby is doing well. The NP said everything is on target. She asked if I was feeling any bumps and stuff and I was like yep. So she measured me and said I was right on target. She tried to find the baby’s heart beet and it took FOREVER! She couldn’t find it and finally she found it for like 3 seconds and the rat moved. So she kind of chased her around and found it again. And we listened to it for awhile. She said that the heart beat was at 130 which she said that’s where I have been averaging so she said looks well. So I guess that’s encouraging. I also took my sugar blood test. The lady that did the blood test was CRAZY! She kept going on and on about having an order and I told her that I didn’t have an order sheet and she goes… well you need one I can’t draw your blood unless you have one. And I told her that I understood that but when I was there at my last appointment they gave me the drink and I was told at that point that they would have an order down here. Well the lady was NUTZ so she holds up this pink order sheet and goes… “Do you have this” and I was like no… I have the one from this time but I don’t have one for this time. And she goes well I have to have this… at that point the lady that does the check in intervenes and goes “well did you get one from upstairs” and I go yeah but it doesn’t have an order on it from this time. So she took and repeats exactly what I just told her. So I was like well okay and she was like well let me check and see if we have one on file for you. She came back and sure enough there was one there… I was like just GET ME OUT OF HERE so when she turned her back I gave her the bird. It didn’t think it was necessary for her to go on and on the way she did! But that was the ‘drama’ from the doctor’s appointment oh and the 9 LBS!

Lehna has NOT been sleeping through the night this week so Tait said that she wasn’t feeling good on Wednesday and he said she “looked warm” so I called the daycare and asked how she was doing and they said she wasn’t acting herself. So I called the doctor and got her into b/c I thought maybe she had a sinus infection or something like that. So Tait took her to the doctor and the poor kid has an ear infection. They said that she had a “slight” fever but after she took some of the medicine she would be able to go back to daycare. So Tait said when he dropped her off she threw a HUGE fit and refused to go and cried. Tait said that she looked warm again and so I called to see how she was doing and they said that she was doing fine but if something changed they would let us know. I didn’t get a call so maybe she perked up. Lehna NEVER throws fits in the morning at daycare she is usually running down the hall and can’t wait to eat breakfast. So I don’t know I think it didn’t help that Tait was home with her all day yesterday I think that made her want to stay home again. But the good news is she DID sleep through the night last night… She woke up one time we put her in our bed ONCE and moved her back… but 10:30 she was asleep and gone for the entire night. I was SOOOO EXCITED! So hopefully no more babies in the bed, I know she loves it but it’s getting really annoying b/c I can’t really sleep with in the bed and then I have to move her back… it just makes me crazy! It was a HORRIBLE habit to get into and now we are suffering to break her luckily it’s only been about 2 weeks with this new sleeping in our bed thing so hopefully breaking it won’t be too hard.

As far as everything else goes I was able to get a dresser this weekend for Maya’s room. I’m VERY excited about it! So I know I have said this OVER AND OVER but I am going to get the dumb bed down and actually start setting up things in that room. I really want to get it ready to go b/c baby will be here in about 10 weeks if I go on time… sooooo that’s a little bit of pressure! I know it’s not like tomorrow but I can only do about one project a day one the weekend b/c it wears me out so quick so I have to decide what I’m going to work on a little at a time so I can get it under control and I know it’s going to take some time in that room b/c there are just some many little touches to do.

Jackie was so very nice and purchase Tait and I a whole bedroom set for baby Maya. It’s the John Lennon Animal set it’s VERY cute! And it will look really nice in the room. The room is painted a soft yellow and white so it will look really good in there it almost looks like it was planned. Jackie also offered herself up as FREE slave labor this weekend to help me work in that room. So I KNOW I will be working in there now which is good b/c I need to do it! So if I get it all up and looking pretty I will take pictures so everyone can see. It will depend on the progress. I need to get a staple gun though so I can “fix” the carpet. Daisy the dog was kind enough to pull the carpet up around the door sooooo when you open the door you have to push REALLY hard to get the door open and the carpet gets stuck under the door and stuff… It’s a whole lot of mess. So I need to come up with a way to fix it I figure a staple gun would be the easiest then I can just refasten the thing back down. It won’t look pretty but I’m not too concerned with “pretty” I just want to door to open without having to fight the carpet. Tait suggested we cut the carpet back around the door but I don’t know how that will look; with staples it will at least be hidden. So I don’t know that will be one thing I will have to “figure” out. We also have to get sealers for the windows so that will be done before next winter since we won’t be getting the windows. I am VERY sad about it! The sales guy keeps calling me asking me if I’m for CERTAIN wanting to cancel the windows. I haven’t called him back yet to tell him yes. I just can’t do it. I hate the idea they are going to suck until next winter. We were SOOOOO CLOSE to getting them but the furnace kind of changed our plans, but the new furnace was something that HAD to be replaced and the windows are kind of a thing that can wait. If you know what I mean they aren’t the most exciting thing but hopefully something will come along!

Something exciting happened at work! We just landed a new client that is REALLY going to help keep work flowing in! I’m VERY EXCITED about it b/c it’s now a new 5 year contract. So that will help with our hours which will help and we will be able to place more people at work. Which is SOOOO important? I found out that after I get back from my maternity leave they will become my client. The senior staffing agent will have it until then but then I’ll get it so I’m excited about it. I was able to get another client who they are soooo much harder to fill b/c it’s only weekend shifts right now. Soooo I hope that eventually they have more perm positions or I am going to STRUGGLE every week trying to get it filled. It’s just one of those things you know what I mean! But that’s work.

Tait is really enjoying his new spot as an Investigator. He has only been an investigator for about 3 weeks and he has really enjoyed it. So that’s kind of fun! I have been meaning to write about this before but I kept forgetting. So he is still working for the same company and everything just he’s doing more investigations. The only that kind of sucks is he has weekends where he’s on call and like this week he has been on call all week so he doesn’t sleep very well b/c he’s afraid he’ll miss a call. So it’s kind of strange. It’s like he has to be tied to this beeper it’s kind of funny.

Well that’s all I have for this weeks update. I know it’s kind of long and boring but hey… that happens.

Thanks for reading about us!

A little touch of winter!

Welcome to the update for this week!

Well we have had our first taste of winter yesterday! We woke up to snow and ice all over the road on Tuesday morning. I am sure as many were driving in their morning commutes you saw many slide offs and accidents and you probably thought to yourself and said “what an idiot” Well I must say that I joined that ranking of “what an idiot” Yep that’s right I was one of the many LUCKY people that go to put their cars in a ditch and had to get a tow truck to get me out! It happened on the huge hill just outside the town in which I live and I started to slide on the hill so I tried to correct myself and I managed to spin the car around and end up in the ditch the hill was pure ice it was just like wet glass it was wonderful. I was going 35 mph up the hill so it didn’t take much. As I was parked in the ditch I had many people that stopped to ask if I was okay and see if I needed assistance. I did have a couple of very nice gentlemen that did try to push the big SUV out of the hill but the ground was too soft and the road was just too slippery so I was unable to get out on my own. Sooooo as I was waiting I got to witness several almost slide offs on the same damn hill and I got to see a school bus slide down the hill sideways b/c of the ice so that was exciting! Some cars drove fast and many drove slow I was more afraid about the fast driving cars then the slow one’s so I stayed in my car hoping that no one would hit me. Soon the tow truck showed up and he got my car out in like 10 mins not much effort at all. As we were pulling the car out the sheriff did show up to offer assistance but of course the car was out of the ditch by then. Sooooo when the car was out of the ditch the suv was parked in the middle of the road so I had to of course move the car so other cars could go around and as I was walking back to the SUV I managed to slip and fall on the VERY slippery ice. This of course made on lookers painic the Sheriff turned on his lights and then came RUNNING out of his car asking if I was okay. I of course was more embarrassed then anything and was totally fine. So the tow truck driver came over and he about fell down and asked if I was okay and I told him I was fine and that was the end of my EXCITING morning! I’m glad that the car nor myself was harmed but I was just very embarrassed so I can live with that!

I love Indiana Weather!

Opps I messed up and I was CAUGHT!

Joyce noticed that I happen to mention Baby B's name in my last post and I am confirming the baby's name.... Her name is going to be Maya Elizabeth pronounced Sky-Ya but with an M on the front. We have been calling her Maya for the last couple of months so I slipped... Opps. But yes that is her name.

Update

So I have some cute pictures that I am going to add to website but I didn’t have time to get them off the computer.

On the Lehna front a few new things have been happening… FIRST THING Lehna is now officially a BIG GIRL! She is sleeping in a toddler bed. This is night three and so far things are going well. When we went into the room she asked me very politely if she could get off the bed. And I said yes and thanked her for asking. I have a feeling that they make them ask for permission at daycare. Then last night Lehna was crying and Tait went in there and she was just sitting on the bed and asked for her mommy so Tait goes “do you want to go see her” and so she goes “yeah” like all teary in her voice. It just made my heart feel so good. So she’s sleeping through that night even though she is in a big girl bed I was worried that she would be up playing all night long but she really doesn’t have any interested in that she just wants to sleep. Also another break though that the baby is growing up. About 8:15 we will ask her if she wants to go to bed she will say “yes” and we walk around giving kisses and go straight to bed. No fussing any fits just wants to go to sleep. It’s so wonderful. Now getting the munchkin dressed in the morning would be GREAT if we didn’t have to fight her every morning but right now. I’m happy with what we got.

We are also starting to get Lehna accustomed to the potty. She is REALLY showing interest in it and we are starting to work with her. The ladies at daycare are also working with her so hopefully it will be a smooth transition. I don’t necessarily need her out of diapers before Maya appears but it would be nice to have one out of diapers before the next one appears. I don’t know though she doesn’t quite understand what we want her to do but she at least realizes that she has to take her diaper off to sit and she is up on that part. So we are working with her it will take some time but I think it will be good. Last night she even patted her diaper and I asked if she had to go potty and she said yep so I took her in there and all she did was play with the potty so I don’t know it may take some time but I know we’ll get it.

News on the home front, this weekend was a weekend to clean out closets. I managed to get the “coat closet” completely cleaned out we only had like 20 bags of trash to take out which was CRAZY! But it looks so nice now I was also able to work in Baby B’s room and I moved things around and started to organize things. I won’t be done until I can get the darn bed out of there and a smaller dresser. We looked at little dressers this weekend I think I can get one at Wal-Mart so I will probably be getting that this weekend or next so I can start going back through Lehna’s clothes to get them organized and ready to go. I really want to take the dumb bed in there. We had to take apart the crib to get it out of Lehna’s room and once I get the stupid bed out of the room I’ll be able to set the crib up and move the changing table which will be nice. I need to get some things for the walls in there b/c they are a little bare but I’m sure I’ll come up with something. It’s just hard to believe that that baby will be here so soon!

Also on the home front we got a new furnace, something we weren’t planning on getting but heck why not, who wants new windows when you can invest in a new furnace right? It broke Christmas Eve so luckily when we went on vacation it didn’t break anymore which was lucky for us! So now our house is all controlled by numbers which is nice. I have noticed that we haven’t turned it down as low as we did with the other furnace but that is okay because it keeps the house warm anyways!

We got back from Wisconsin and it was very sad to leave. We had such a good time. I’m sure by reading Jackie’s blog you know that we went to the Miller Company but it was closed. We also went to the Jelly Belly company and that was “interested” we knew that we were going to go on a tour but we didn’t realize it would be a big tour of a warehouse where we would watch some videos of the creating of jelly bellies there really wasn’t much to it other than that actually. We did have to wear this ridiculous hat that I think was mainly b/c they wanted everyone to ware b/c they are cruel rather than it really serving a purpose I mean it was a warehouse for goodness sakes. We also when to this church on the hill and it was really pretty. We really had a good time at the church it was so beautiful, I enjoyed it. I figure we probably won’t be able to go back to Wisconsin until the summer with the baby coming in the spring so we will have to make some plans then. Of course I don’t think I’ll have vacation days until Julyish but that will be okay, I’m sure we will work something out.

Work is going pretty well right now. We are kind of slow but for the most part I’m really keeping busy. We are trying to get a bunch of people in the system b/c we have a few companies that we are waiting on contracts from but once they come down we are going to be FLOODED with new job opportunities and for being general labor we need to make sure we have enough people in the system for when the storm hits. Which I have to say I’m not really looking forward to it but then at the same time I am looking forward to it so it’s kind of a strange feeling it’s kind of the calm before the storm, so as it develops it should be pretty interesting.

What else is going on? I want to go baby shopping for Baby B. I don’t really need anything for her but I was looking at the baby clothes that I have for her that I have gotten for her and I just want to get her a few things so she can have her own stuff. Which I’m sure she will get her fill of new things. Helen said she found us a double stroller yesterday so I’m excited about that. I know that I wanted to get one of those so I will be able to take both babies out for walks or shopping or whatever so I can’t to see it. Helen said we have to put it together which we have become experts of the last couple of weeks getting things together for Christmas and also Lehna’s new bed and stuff so it will be fun to put the stroller together.

Oh another funny thing before I forget. Lehna has become a little parrot she has discovered a new phrase… it’s “oh sh%t” Yep that’s right she has learned her first curse word. She was playing with her play horse the other day and she couldn’t move it and she goes “oh sh%t” and I didn’t think that what she said so a couple of days later she was playing with one of her new spoons and she accidentally broke it and goes “oh sh%t” again… and I was like Lehna no no don’t say that. So yep we have quite the little curser on our hands… I guess it could be worse it could be something REALLY horrible like the F word or something like that. So we will be curbing our language around the parrot. So that should be interesting I wonder what it will be like when she says it at daycare. I mean I wonder if they will point it out to us or what. I don’t know it should be interesting.

Oh here’s a little update. Our very BIG girl used the potty on her own last night! We were VERY excited! Tait put her on there and she went right away no problem. Of course this morning she wanted NOTHING to do with it. I asked her if she wanted to use the potty and she goes “no” and I go asked her again then she finally said “yes” then we went in the bathroom and she was pulling on her pants but not really taking them down so I reached down to help and she pushed my hands away and goes “NO” really loudly and didn’t want my help… soooooo I didn’t torture her I figure we will keep trying every morning to get her and then maybe she’ll get used to the idea. She just isn’t a morning person. So a small step towards potty training!

Update

I decided to write an update about Christmas we are getting ready to get out of town for a couple of days and there has been some exciting things going on so I thought that I would update then update again once we get back. Well we did get everything finished for Christmas of course we bought our last gifts on December 24th but they got done so that’s all that’s important right? Now the Update!

On Friday night I came home from work and I was watching Tiger and I haven’t written about this before but Tiger has had some bladder problems recently. I thought he had an infection and so we put him in the bathroom to watch him to make sure he didn’t get worse. Well we called the vet and told her what was going on and they wanted us to get a “sample” and I was like are you kidding me? Or they said we could bring him and they are very convenient as far as when they are open so we told them we would call them if he got worse. Well he got better a couple of days he was ready to leave the bathroom he was eating and playing fine. Well he came in one evening and he started to squat on my shoes, the air vents, the carpet but nothing was happening. Well I was like uht oh that’s not good. Well I was like this is no good and I was kind of just waiting to see what happened. I called to talk to the vet and the vet said they were going to be open over the weekend. So I was trying to find someone that would take him on Saturday and everyone was pretty much closed so my only solution was taking him to the emergency clinic in Lafayette. We took him and they basically said that he was in critical condition and they would have to do all of these things to him and the estimate was VERY expensive and they said that they really needed an answer because they would take him back and get started on him. I looked at Tait and I told him that I just didn’t then we could afford it. It was a horrible choice to make I hate basing decisions based on if we can afford it but we just couldn’t. So we choose to put him down. It was very sad and I cried. The lady at the clinic told me that I made the right decision and that really didn’t help it made me feel worse actually. So it was a sad beginning to the weekend.

On Christmas Eve Lehna woke and we noticed that the house was pretty chilly. We had turned the thermostat up and we could hear it kick on but the fans weren’t kicking on. This was at two in the morning that this happened sooooo Tait got up and I put Lehna in the bed with me just to try to keep us warm. Well Tait called his parents and Tim wasn’t sure what was wrong with it so Tait started calling furnace places to come fix it. Mind you it was 2 in the morning and he did get a hold of a company that has fixed our furnace before and they said they were currently on a call but as soon as they got done they would come to our house. So until then Tait was in the front room waiting for them to show up and Lehna and I were snuggled together in the bed of course when you sleep with a two year old next to you there really isn’t much “sleeping” involved she kicked and twisted and turned for hours. Well then the furnace guy came at 6 am and he was there not more than an hour. In the hour he was able to get the furnace running again but he was explaining what was wrong with it to me and he told me that b/c of the type of furnace this is and how old it is he said that we really need to replace it. Soooooo So much for windows this year, so we talked to him about what type of furnace we need to get and he gave us the application for the financing and said he would call us to give us an estimate and all that jazz. So I was VERY grateful for the guy to come and fix the furnace on Christmas Eve at 6 am in the morning. I told Tait that they are the people we are going to use from now on b/c this is the only time this has happened and they were more than willing to come and help us.

So Christmas came and it was wonderful. Lehna was so cute the entire time. She enjoyed unwrapping the gifts and she was into it. We would have to get her attention to unwrap more then she would get the toy or whatever and want to play with it instantly and I kept telling her that she has to wait until we get them all out. So she would wonder back to open more then wonder away it was pretty cute. She of course did VERY well as far as gifts everyone was VERY generous so thank you very much. Our living room is now piled again with toys. We are going to have to move some things around very quickly to get things settled before the baby gets here!

The kitchen Lehna got was GREAT I thought it was only going to be a few pieces to put together HECK no it wasn’t! It took 2 ½ hours and 54 different screws that didn’t count all the “snap together pieces” so it took awhile but she was so cute when we finally got it open and set up. She ran over to it and pushes the microwave and goes Beep beep Beep and shuts the door very cute! She also plays with the food puts it on the plate then walks over to sit in the chair to pretend to eat. It was a huge hit! So it was worth the 2 ½ hours of labor to put it together. She also got a few dolls, doll bed, stroller, shopping cart, and lots of food to play with at her kitchen. So she is all set!

Baby B even got a few things. She got a picture frame, diapers, and transition cup. So I’m sure Baby B thanks you too once she realizes what’s going on. I can’t wait until she gets here not only because I will no longer be pregnant but also b/c I think she will be a nice addition to our circus!

We went to Peru for Christmas Eve so we were able to stay until Christmas night and we left early the 26th so I could go back to work. It was nice being able to stay with the Wagner’s I didn’t play bingo which is really a shocker since usually we go to play bingo when we get there. We got to see my side of the family Christmas afternoon. It was great. We played the gift exchange game at Grandma’s and I was impressed the exchange level definitely came up a bit. So that was nice I think the $50 incentive helped! The gift that got exchanged the most was of course alcohol Steven created a Hot Chocolate kit and it had peppermint schnapps, chocolate, and a few other things in there but it was stolen a lot, but second was the gift certificate I BROUGHT! Yeah for Red Lobster! It was big hit well next to the alcohol. Steven said that since he was donating the $50 he didn’t want to win the money so he gave it to me! So now we had $50 to go to Red lobster since the damn card got stolen from me SEVERAL times… even Tait was trying to keep it but still it didn’t help. We played an additional twist to the game… we had a “mystery prize” where we couldn’t unwrap the gift but you could trade for it and it wasn’t going to get opened until the VERY end and we also had a “chance” card you had to pull once all the trading was over which the chance card could say simply Merry Christmas or it could say Trade presents with the Mystery Presents, or Everyone must trade two presents to the right or something like that. It definitely made the game more interesting the last switch was of course at the VERY end and we all “thought” we were going to end up with great presents but it didn’t matter much. It was fun though. After we did the game we did the traditional picture. We moved rooms this year to the front family room only b/c they feared for the floor and it collapsing so they moved it. The picture was of course fabulous you know we always take great pictures! Then we played an 80’s trivia game that took A LONG time to finish. I was ready to end it since I was only not even 10 years old during that time it made it a little more difficult. That was all we played though so I was a little sad about that. We didn’t play any games at Thanksgiving so that was sad that we only played on game. Lehna was very entertained climbing on me then running back around the table to Tait it was kind of funny. She had like a sugar rush though she started to jump on my legs and bang her head and stuff it was like the sugar took hold of her it was crazy. Heather kept taking her from my lap since she was sooooo hipper. By the time it was time to go home she crashed. She fell asleep on Tait and we got her home changed her clothes and she was out for the count.

On Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese for Camryn’s birthday. Lehna ran around again like a crazy fool but she was good it she didn’t throw a fit or anything. She definitely didn’t want “help” for anything though she would go “I want up” to different things when she couldn’t climb up them by herself but she would attempt to climb on her own first. By the time we were ready to go she was pretty ready as well. She would want to go back to table to get drinks of pop and then want to leave to go run around again. It was funny though b/c every time we put a token in she would get up and want to go somewhere else she wasn’t interested at all at “riding” or playing the games she just wanted to sit on it for awhile then run to the next one. We left and she didn’t cry or anything she was ready to go which made it very easy. Once we got in the car she was still a chatter box and we had gotten some pizza and she wanted some of that and not long after that she was fast asleep. It was nice.

Tomorrow we head for Wisconsin I CAN’T WAIT! I have been waiting for this trip for awhile so it will be fun! Well that’s my update for right now. Nothing too exciting nothing over the top, I will update once we get back from Wisconsin.

Here's What's Happening!

An Update before Christmas! I have my ultrasound for Baby B today! I’m very excited about it so I’m hoping to get some good video clips from it and maybe we will be able to get it up on the blog… don’t hold your breathe but you never know! I am just hoping that they tell me we are still having a girl! B/c I have gotten her some outfits and then I can announce her name that we have decided on. Some know some do not but it will be OFFICIAL we aren’t changing it… aren’t even looking anymore.

So anyways this is like 4 days before Christmas and I got almost everything wrapped yesterday. I have a few more things to wrap but other than that I’m pretty much done. I’m going to go on Friday to get Tait and Lehna’s stocking stuffers but other than that we should be ready to roll. This is good b/c we are having our Christmas on Saturday. I cannot wait to see Lehna open up her gifts she is going to be VERY excited. The poor baby is under the weather today. She woke up with a fever so we kept her home from daycare. Trent was wonderful and came down and was able to watch her today while Tait had to go to his different appointments so that was very lucky for us. I didn’t feel good on Tuesday of this week so if she has the same thing I had on Tuesday I know how the poor girl feels. So hopefully she’ll be ready to go tomorrow mine lasted about 24 hours so hopefully she’ll be swinging again tomorrow.

I still have a few more little odds and ends to get for stockings but then I’m done. Nothing like waiting until the VERY last minute its funny Tait was shopping for Christmas for me last night and I told him to pick Lehna up a new baby doll (I know she is getting TONS) but I wanted her to have a new one at home too. So he got her a new baby and I sat it on the chair and it was there for a couple of hours but Lehna looked at it and started to get closer to it and then noticed it was a baby. This kid got SOOOOO EXCITED she started pointing and walking over to me and then walking over to Tait almost chanting “baby baby baby” over and over and pointing at it. She would kind of do this little squat dance as she pointed walking back and forth it was really cute. So I looked at Tait and asked him if we could open up her doll for her and he said yes. So we opened it up and we let her have it and she watched Tait and he was opening the box it was so cute. So after he got the baby free from the box he handed it to her and she walked over to me and goes “baby” and it’s one of those baby with eyelids that open and close and the baby’s eyes were closed and she goes “shhhhhh” and I go is the baby sleeping and she goes “yeah” as she handed me the baby to hold as she went to go get a blanket for the baby. It was so cute. So we are going to video tape Christmas b/c it was too cute not to have as a memory. It was so sweet though I have never seen her so excited over a baby before.

I think it will be interesting to see how Lehna is with the new baby. As far as I can tell right now she’s going to be a great big sister and it’s going to be fun watching her interact with her. I think once the baby gets old enough to really watch Lehna and Lehna learns that she can be entertained by her then it will be really cute to watch Lehna “perform” for her. So I can’t wait it will be fun to watch them both grow.

This week we had the guy come from bee windows come and give us an estimate on how much it’s going to be for new windows and I’m VERY excited about it. We have been looking to get some new windows for awhile and with the new baby coming it has become a necessity so we are going to get that done hopefully they will be in late February which would be GREAT! I can’t wait for them though it will be wonderful! We are going to just do half of them now and then the other half later. Which we’ll be able to open the front windows which will be such a change from what we can do right now, right now we can’t open the windows in the front room and the new baby’s room the windows leak cold air so badly that we have to get them changed. So it will be nice once they are all fixed. Then maybe we’ll keep the shades in the living room pulled up more. So they are going to come up this Friday again just to do the finalization so that will be nice. I can’t wait! I hope everything goes well and we can get the widows we want.

What else is going on in our lives I can’t wait for Christmas I think that this is going to be a great Christmas just to see Lehna light up will be so cool. She’s such an animated kid anyways I can’t imagine what she will do once she learns she can tear paper and see treasures. I am still looking for another gift the “gift exchange” at grandma’s this Christmas. We are going to have a “competition” for the best gift and most original gift. The one gift I got I don’t think will win any competitions so I wanted the second one to have a least a fighting chance and I’m not really finding anything that will take the prize. I should just get a bottle of Jack Daniels last year that’s what was passed the most. I don’t know though I have to try and figure something out I’m kind of running out of days so I’d better come up with some fast!

Okay well here is an update IN and update… how about that. That just goes to show you how LONG it takes me to write this HORRIBLELY long updates but I’m back from the doctor and it looks like we have another girl, they think. They can’t say 100% but from what the saw it’s a girl of course they said that with her legs and tight as they were there “maybe” parts hidden but a girl is what they are calling it her lines are that “pronounced” I guess so that’s what makes it difficult I guess but the technician said that she thinks it’s a girl. So I’ll take that so I think to be “safe” Tait and I will probably come up with a boys name JUST incase but we are good to go for the most part. Helen said that we better take blue just in case to make sure that he won’t have to go home in blue if she ends up being a he. So we will get it alllllll covered.

So the name… well I’m going to be a stinker and NOT tell you… hehehehehehehehe kind of mean I know but I want to wait just a little bit longer b/c I really DON’T want my mind changed and I really like the names… sooooooo there you go.

Well thanks for reading about us I’m going to close now. Have a safe Christmas and I hope Santa brings you EVERYTHING your hearts desire.

Hey guess what SANTA IS COMING!

Okay so most of you know that Santa is getting ready to come and visit everyone’s houses… but let me tell you being his helper this year… I really haven’t gotten much of my share done… as a matter of fact I haven’t done ANY of the shopping yet. I am going to do it this weekend though and I CAN’T WAIT! Every year I tell myself that I am going to shop earlier just to make sure that I don’t have to run around at the last minute… well it didn’t happen this year! But I don’t think it ever happens I think it’s just something I like to tell myself so I don’t feel bad. It doesn’t really work although I normally don’t feel bad so maybe it does work!

Speaking of Santa boy I think we need to put Lehna on Santa’s Bad list from her little espoide from last night. I went to pick her up at daycare and she wanted to walk through the gate and I was trying to lift her over it. Well she throws herself down on the ground kicking and screaming and crying... it was GREAT! Well I am trying to convince this child to stand up so I can lift her up the lady goes... well let me hand her to you... she is KICKING and screaming. So I have to carry her down the hallway like a sack of flour b/c she won't stop crying all the way down the hall passing parents and other children... I saw friends of our and he goes "what did you do" and laughed and said "oh I like to pinch her occasionally" and walked on I was ready to beat her! We get to the car and this kid CRIES the ENTIRE TRIP HOME A 20 MINS TRIP! We pull up to our house and she's FINALLY silent! I have to get out of the car b/c we only have one garage door opener right now. So I get out and come back and the angel child is crying AGAIN! So I tell her that we are going to go see the puppies and she goes Molly... in her language that I only understand.. .and I go Yep Molly and she stops crying... the brat child! Tait called me and I asked him if he was on his way home and he goes... well I would like to see another family and I go... can you please come home Lehna is about ready to be killed and he's like.. yep on my way home now... so I thought that was VERY nice of him to come home... when he got home he said that he didn't think it would look very good in the paper that the wife of a DCS/CPS worker murder his daughter in the paper! I told him he was probably right! She was just awful last night. I don’t know if it was just the terrible two attitude or what it was crazy. So we shall see how she is tonight. I keep telling her Santa is watching her of course I don’t think she understand what that means… I mean she just kind of stares at your when you talk to her about Santa.

I have been working on my Christmas list all day and it gets longer the more I work with it! Which is kind of fun! Tonight is my office party and I am very excited about it! We are having a chef come in and cook the food for us so that will be kind of nice. Our employers LOVES to spoil us and I enjoy that tremdously. We are supposed to bring white elephant gifts and I went though my house yesterday and I found so many things that I could re-gift! I was very excited and it was kind of fun! I don’t want what I’m bringing but it will be funny to watch the other people open them up.

This week I injured my back some how and so I have been nursing my back a week. I really don’t know how I did it but after sitting for a couple of hours everyday I feel like I’m going to die. I called the doctor on Tuesday to tell him my back was hurting to see what “remedies” I could do and they basically said that I can’t do anything about it except take Tylenol and for me to ice it for the first 24 then heat the next… that really didn’t work and the Tylenol really wasn’t a good fix. But it’s feeling better today I just don’t know what I did to it. It still hurts when I pick Lehna up and stuff and when I sit and work and stand up after a couple of hours of sitting I usually feel the strain but laying down it feels pretty good. Last night I slept as still as possible so it wouldn’t hurt at all!

Next week we have an ultrasound appointment scheduled for Baby B I am pretty excited about it. I just hope they tell us baby b is still a girl… I’m kind of “nervous” about that, I know I shouldn’t be but you never know, things could Pop out… But it will be nice to see the baby again. We have a named picked out again for this week. So I’m not going to share it yet b/c I don’t want it to change. I middle name still hasn’t changed it’s going to be Elizabeth so it will be nice! I think it’s a nice connector name but the first name… I’m going to keep it a secret for at least another week… only b/c that will ensure that it will still stay around. I change my mind a lot… Okay well this is enough of an update just a bunch of rambling now. So thanks for reading about us.

Turkey Wrap Up

Well here’s the TURKEY WRAP UP!

I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is gone and over with already. Man this year is flying by it’s hard to believe! Well this Thanksgiving was filled with surprises well one anyways. I got to see my Aunt Sam! I love getting to see her and we don’t get to see her very much so I was VERY excited to see her at Thanksgiving apparently it was a surprise and Stephen was the only one who knew so I was excited to she her and even though we didn’t play any games we had some interesting conversations anyways.

We went to see Tait’s grandparents on Thanksgiving for lunch and it was good to see the family. The house wasn’t too packed this time which was kind of nice most everyone had been their earlier to visit and by the time we got there we were like the “second shift” of people so we didn’t have to move around too much to find seats which were nice! Their house is VERY small so when you go there and you get a seat you don’t move b/c then you won’t be able to sit down again. It’s kind of silly but that’s the way it works. They were excited to see Lehna and she was pretty good for the most part. She would eat a little off the plate and then go and get something off of someone else’s plate she’s definitely a scamp when it comes it eating she would rather pick at your plate then get her own. I guess it takes too much time to sit and eat or something. But she was very shy around the grandparents which I totally expected she just doesn’t know them very well so that’s why. We just don’t get there very often unfortunately we just are usually so busy and it just is hard to get down there. I want to get down there for Christmas we just won’t be able to go on Christmas b/c we will probably be at the Wagner’s then to my grandma’s that evening so we will have to plan for another day for that.

After the Wagner’s we went to my families Thanksgiving in Peru and boy did I eat! I love porgies so I got to eat my FILL of them and let me tell you it was A LOT! Grandma tried a new one which I was NOT brave enough to try it was called sour krout and pork… it sounded gross and I just wasn’t brave enough but everything else was pretty tasty. I love the fruit one’s so I had a lot of them and they go FAST so you have to get them quick. I want to make them for my home but I don’t know if I would do them justice so the only one’s I have tried is when Jackie and I made Pumpkin filled one’s and we put them in oil to fry and they were pretty tasty. We had a good time at Thanksgiving Lehna pretty much played with Tait the whole time she would come up to me on occasion just to make sure I was still around but she would run around and then back and forth. It was pretty cute.

On Friday we went to BINGO and I did get to yell BINGO once. I bingo’ed with someone else so I had to split the money but I bought pull tabs with it… and out of like 50 bucks in pull tabs we had 4 entries and we didn’t win CRAP it was very disappointing. But we had a good time anyways. Then we also went to Birthday Party for Little Tanna she’s now 25… I guess she’s only one year younger then me but still… So then by Sunday I was ready to come home and pick up all the mess at our house. We got home and it wasn’t too bad as far as the mess it has been worse before so it was nice today.

That was pretty much the Turkey Day it was fun we had a good time overall! I can’t wait for Christmas though we are going to go North for New Years so that will be A TON of fun I just can’t wait we always have such a nice time when we go to visit so it will be fun. I didn’t do any Christmas shopping b/c I’m a HUGE slacker to be honest with you. So we will be doing that eventually we will probably do it like two weeks before Christmas. I can’t wait to shop for Lehna I know I will go crazy I mean she’s not even two but I’m going to go nuts I can feel it already. I have been thinking about Tait for Christmas and I really haven’t come up with anything. Tait is also asking me what I what for Christmas and I really haven’t come up with anything as far as what I want I just can’t think of anything. I just can’t think of anything that I am in great need of but I’m sure he’ll come up with some thing great.

Baby B is doing well I am feeling her squirm a lot more which is kind of a strange feeling again. She is more a mover then a kicker which is different then how Lehna was I enjoy feeling her though. She still doesn’t have a name, we are going to have another ultrasound December I just want a confirmation that she is a girl. I think she is but I just want a double check just to make sure. But if she is a girl then I will start buying her a few things I don’t want to go crazy only b/c I have all of Lehna’s clothes to wear but I want her to have a few things that are all hers. Today my boss gave me a work onezie and its super cute! It has the logo on it so it will look cute on her. Especially if she is born with hair to put little bows in her hair with or even on her bald head it will look cute. I just am so curious to see what she’s going to look like I mean I have a feeling she’s going to look a LOT like Lehna b/c Lehna’s features are so “wagnerish” so it will be sweet if she looks like her. Of course she probably will have very different personality traits which will be fun too b/c I know how Lehna is so it will be fun to see how she will react to different things. I wonder if she will be a T.V watcher or if she will not like TV just like Lehna doesn’t it would be very strange to see a totally opposite but I have a feeling with Lehna being the “leader” she will have more fun imitating her sister.

Lehna the other day when I picked her up at daycare the last day before Thanksgiving she was wearing this little Indian headband and it had feathers on it and she was chasing this little boy round around round this table screaming she was just like a little Indian! I can’t believe just how busy this kid is she is always doing something she never spends too much time standing in one place. We can usually get her to sit for a little bit only when she eats but she’s still moving around and never just sitting still doing nothing. I just have never seen a child that was so active before. I don’t know who she is more like as a baby. I don’t know if I was like that according to Tait’s mom Tait was more docile and wasn’t as busy so I don’t know if I was this busy or not. It’s crazy though!

Well that’s my update for today. Nothing too exciting and I didn’t take ONE picture this weekend… why… we’ll I left my camera at home for the weekend and with as much trouble we had just trying to get out of the house I thought that going back to get it just wasn’t worth it. So maybe at Christmas we will have some pictures… maybe… of course I will HAVE to take pictures to capture Lehna ripping open the packages!

Okay that’s it…

Short Week!

Well here is the week/weekend wrap up for this week!

This has been an exciting week for as short as it has been!

This weekend my mom came down from Wisconsin to visit Lehna & Zachary. She spent the day with us and night then went over on Sunday to visit Zach. I think they had a good time together. Lehna was really shy at first when mom first came around but she opened up. But the end of the night mom was wrestling on the floor with her and tickling her belly. We had gone to Pizza Hut on Saturday night and I don’t know if that “fruit drink” is all sugar or what but when we came back Lehna was like a wild child she was running around the table yelling and running into our legs and laughing then she would run into Mom’s it was fun but she was wound up.

Lehna got a new book it’s called ‘If you give a mouse a cookie’ my mom got it for her and as most of you know her favorite book is ‘I Love you through and through’ well Lehna now carries both books around to each of us every night for us to read them to her so I think that’s pretty cute. So Mom the book is a BIG hit she really enjoys it. It’s great it’s one of those books where there are only a few words on the pages so Lehna has the attention span to sit through each page. It’s a cute book if you ever read it I think you would enjoy it.

On Sunday we went to Indy to get our pictures taken. I’m a portrait member (so they wouldn’t have sitting fees) and Jackie and Marcus want to get their pictures taken AND we wanted the kids pictures taken together as well so we all went together to get them done.

We went first and Lehna was not too happy through the picture she was shy around the photographer and was leering of her and they only took 4 pictures total and we did manage to get 2 out of the 4 so that was good. They turned out cute but Lehna wasn’t into it too much I mean what you want for a 2 year old. Marcus, Jackie, and Zach’s pictures were cute too but they only took 4 of them as well and they did get 2 out of them as well which was nice. After the “family pictures” we got the kids together and Lehna was better but she still barely smiled for them. She did the same blank expression on her face. The goofy kid, so as soon as I get those pictures back I will be adding them to the website or at least Jackie will update them for me… won’t you Jackie (you love me right Jackie?).

This week has been pretty exciting even for a short week. Work was kind of slow this week when we hit the holidays I guess we slow down tediously so I don’t have very many job orders or anything to do besides sales calls and let me tell you THOSE SUCK! I’m just bad at them and I get really nervous I’m always afraid the people will start yelling at me or something… I know they won’t but I just get nervous about it. I always have it in my head that they are going to say no but they want us to contact people that we haven’t used us and that just makes me nervous b/c I’m afraid they’ll ask me questions they won’t know. I don’t know it’s kind of funny that I get worried about it but I do…

One really exciting this is our furnace broke on Tuesday night. We were sitting watching TV and we were talking about how drafty our house was like by the windows especially. Well Tait sealed the windows with plastic and it still was cold in the house and during that time I had turned the heat up to 70 degrees. Well after Tait got done sealing the windows he checked the temp again it the temp gage hadn’t moved… big Uht Oh… so we kept watching it until we went to bed and the fan was continuously running like the thing didn’t shut off. Well this has happened before with our furnace and it was a build up around the burner and they had to come out and vacuum it out last time. Well we had to turn the power off to it last night b/c the fan was constantly pushing out cold air and we went to bed with lots of blankets. I have put in a call into a service center and they are supposed to be there today to fix it. So hopefully they will be able to fix it today and not have to worry about it anymore. It’s stressing! I hate that.

So on happier news

So this week we are going to go to Williamsport for Thanksgiving Lunch then Up to Peru for Porgies! I’m VERY excited. It’s going to be a great weekend busy busy but it will be fun I think! We have talked about doing Black Friday but nothing is in stone yet. Tait and I have decided that there really isn’t anything that we need as far as the “special deals” so we may pass it up totally. I don’t know though it’s still very unclear. So we’ll have to see what happens. It’s just too early to make those plans so far this morning.

Baby news.

What’s going on with Baby B? Well I am feeling her kick more and more which is kind of fun. Tait said he did feel her kick the other night while his arm was draped across my tummy. That apparently made her very upset b/c she kicked his arm and he felt the little bump then. So that was fun. We still don’t really have a name we have tossed several around but nothing has really stuck yet. Tait keeps trying to teach Lehna new names that we come up with and I keep telling him to stop since it will confuse her so he said he would. So hopefully something will come in and I’ll really love it. Just nothing yet has really struck my fancy.

Lehna News

She’s still as rotten as ever. Her room is coming along it’s just slowly we still didn’t take the bed out. I’m thinking about getting a single bed for her room only b/c once Baby B is finally born we won’t have any place to put out visitors so we may put the single in Baby B’s room since the baby will be in our room. So I don’t know we will have to work on that problem. Lehna has also started to slowly work her bedtime up 9 p.m she is doing it herself. She is just SOOOOO wound up by the time bedtime rolls around we can usually tell she’s tired though b/c she gets to start throwing fits of little things that’s usually when I notice the time and I go.. .Lehna are you ready to go to bed and she usually goes “no” and I go that’s too bad and she usually runs away from me… it’s a game… Probably not a smart game to play with her but it’s part of the “routine” I KNOW again not a smart game to play but she’s so rotten sometimes but so cute at the same time. It’s a hard battle. She’s pretty cute though I love her. I can’t wait for this weekend she is going to have so much fun planning with all of the relatives. I can’t wait to EAT! LOL the joys of Thanksgiving when your pregnant! I just hope she’s good this weekend there’s nothing worse then a bratty 2 year old. I know I can’t think of anything worse maybe when it’s MY two year old that I want to kill!

Lehna’s hair is STILL in her eyes. I have tried once to get her hair cut but there was like a 45 min wait time so I decided against it. I am planning on getting it done it’s just hard to plan a time that she won’t be wild and trying to think of a place that will “entertain” her. Trying to get this child to sit still is quite a feat! I mean she is the BUSIEST little kid that I have ever seen. She won’t watch TV we have started to get her into SOMETHING and she will tolerate the Wiggles for about 5 mins but if they aren’t dancing then you mind as well forget it b/c that’s all her attention span will handle is just dancing. She really enjoys the dancing… though you can’t tell her to dance b/c if you do she just spins round and round until she falls down and I hate that. I am always fearful she’s going to hit a sharp corner or something like that. Not to be a worry wart but I do worry. Which is kind of interesting b/c the other day Tait took Lehna to the book store and there was book about all the wiggles and she picked it up and was VERY excited about it so Tait got it for her so she does recognize the Wiggles which is kind of fun! At least we can say she’s “sort of” into something… Lehna would much rather be putting on her shoes to go somewhere then watching the TV. Which is kind of nice b/c taking her to the grocery store or shopping is so easy with her. She enjoys watching the people which is nice. You just can’t look at something too long b/c she does start to pull clothes of the hangers and that’s kind of annoying. But she’s a good kid overall. I am very curious to see what type of personality her sister is going to have. I mean if she’s “anything” like Lehna Lord help us all! Lehna is just so busy and always wants to do something which is just so cute. Lehna’s “swing set” fund is growing which is nice. My office has office meetings weekly and there are questions at the end of our “training” and they pass out 1s & 5s and anyone I get I put in her swing set fund. I want to get her one of the nice wooden swing sets so I need like 300 or so to get her a nice one. We also put ALL of our loose change in there and I have two piggy banks going for it. I told Tait one day we are going to count it and it will be like 50,000 which would be nice! LOL

Okay that’s all I got for now I know its exciting isn’t it… I was just looking over what all I typed in and boy did I type a lot but boy it is just crap isn’t it LOL

Anyways

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!

Weekend Wrap Up!

Well I am entering another weekly wrap up on Monday after the weekend. Things have been kind of the same around our house nothing too exciting but that won’t stop me from entering an update… heck no!

This weekend Jackie, Christina, Zach, Lehna, & I all went to the Christmas Hobby show thing at the state fairgrounds on Saturday I have to tell you I was QUITE disappointed. This year we kind of went for a mission we wanted to get these fabulous candles they are seriously the best candles in the world. They smell the house up with just one candle and I have YET to find another candle with that type of power. We got them two years ago and were looking at every store that had candles but there were NONE in site. I was very sad. It was also soooooo crowed. For some reason the first two rows were right on top of each other so if anyone stopped to look at the stuff at the counters then NO ONE either side could get down so you kind of pushed your way down the aisle and didn’t really stop and look at anything. This year there was a BUNCH of booths that were selling like junk a bunch like for example the As Seen on TV items and people doing demos and stuff so that kind of sucked nothing really “Christmassy”. Even the normal “Christmas” items shops like painted wooden things that you can get personalized or just stores to buy Christmas stuff they just weren’t there this year so that was kind of disappointing. I was looking for a bingo shirt for my mother in law and they didn’t even have anything like that. All of the shirt and sweatshirt stores had the same things on them nothing really different. I did get a shirt for Lehna that says “That’s it! Take me to my NANA” which is really cute. It’s really big but its 100% cotton so I got it big so when it shrinks it will fit Lehna! I also got some homemade Toffee that was really good but that was it all I bought.

After the show we went to eat at Olive Garden which was fun. Lehna was pretty good at the restaurant she did decide that she wanted to have a screaming contest there so we quickly wrapped up our meals and left. After that we went to Keystone which there were a TON of people there too we parked at the bank parking lot and tracked our way over there and Christina got new shoes for Kris and Jackie got some outfits for Zach. Lehna didn’t get anything LOL, either did Tait. After that we headed back to Christina’s where Lehna and I left pretty quickly Lehna was exhausted and so was I. Walking around for 8 hours is pretty tough right now and I wore the wrong shoes so that didn’t make it fun either.

After that Lehna slept all the way home and even when we got home she took a LONG nap which was nice b/c I got to relax and have her sleep on me which is really nice. After that Tait and Trent got back from the game. They went to the Illinois vs. Purdue game and Purdue won so that was fun for them. They came home and we just kind of vegged for the rest of the evening.

On Sunday I started doing some laundry and after a whole day later I only have two loads left! I’m pretty excited. I was REALLY behind! And they were slowly taking over my room! So tomorrow we are supposed to have the guy come from Bee windows come out and give us an estimate on new windows. But I think we are going to reschedule it only b/c Tait won’t be home until later on Tuesday and I don’t want to try to contain Lehna and talk windows all at the same time. But that was my weekend… nothing too exciting but it was nice. Both Purdue and the Colts won this weekend so that made the weekend a lot nicer. So that’s all I got for now, thanks for reading about us this weekend!

It's a GIRL!

Well,we are having ANOTHER GIRL!
Yep, that’s right, another Lehna so you’d better just WATCH OUT!

We went to the clinic in Indy on Saturday and this was actually moved up from when we were originally going to go. We were planning on going November 18th and we decided to move the date up a couple of weeks b/c of a scheduling conflict on the 18th so LUCKLY me got to move up the date!

We were of course VERY excited to hear that it was going to be another girl! The lady was fairly certain that it was going to be a girl when we had the ultrasound. We had the 2D ultrasound for the sex and to just see the baby and then when they went in for the 3D 4D ultrasound the baby had managed to flip to her belly and hid her face. So we weren’t able to see the face but we could see her very sweet arms, legs, toes, back, and head but face is going to be a surprise. But as early as we had the ultrasound they said that 3D we probably wouldn’t be able to see much of the face anyway without it looking very alien like so it was okay that we didn’t get to see her face.

We did start tossing around names and we haven’t found anything yet but we are still looking for the perfect name. Tait said with Lehna’s name he knew RIGHT away that this was the name and I had to be convinced after a day and night then I knew it was that right name. Tait has suggested names like Madelyn or Tatium and I have suggested names like Claira or Olivia… but nothing definite yet so we will have to play around with them some more b/c we don’t know yet. As early as it is the chances of us finding something this soon is kind of unlikely so we will just have to call her Lehna’s sister until we can find something that we agree on. I think that we need to get a map book for the United States and name her something out of there b/c al the rest of the rivers in Russia are kind of ugly sounding. So wish us luck in finding the “perfect” name.

We also managed to work in Lehna’s new room this weekend and we got a new dresser from Uncle Stephen so we could add that to the furniture to her room. So thank you Uncle Stephen and also Marcus & Jackie for getting it from Northern Indiana. We are very grateful. So we took out the rest of the furniture except for the bed. I want to have the bed moved out before Thanksgiving. So that’s goal (time frame) so that will be fun. We are going to add some girly things to the wall and we also decided that we want to add the second baby girl to Lehna’s room when both girls are sleeping through the night so that will be fun. Then we can make the current nursery a playroom and get alllllll of the toys out of my living room, which will be FABOULOUS!

So I’m very excited about having another girl it will be fun and I love having Lehna it’s been really fun so far. I am kind of interested to see what type of personality this little girl is going to have I know Lehna can be VERY challenging at times so it will be interesting to see if she will be her clone or her opposite. Lord help us if we have an opposite!

So I know that we are pretty set on girl clothes I will need to go through them again and find all of the clothes that are either too stained and take out. I want to make sure this baby has her “own” clothes to so we will definitely have to get a “few” outfits that will be all hers. So it should be fun.

Well I will end my update for now hopefully we can find the “perfect name” so I’ll keep you updated on the progress of that.

Welcome to another page of our lives!

Here’s a weekly update! Don’t you love weekly updates. I know I do!

Here’s what is going on in our lives. Well this weekend we had lots of things going on we went to Jackie and Marcus’ for Kris’ Birthday Bash. Lehna was really good the whole time. She got whinny when it was time to go but it was night night time and she hadn’t eaten yet so that played a big part in that. So on the way home I stopped and got McDonalds and she ate really well she had a plain cheese burger and I was AMAZED on how much she ate and this kid wolfed down the pizza earlier in the day so it was AMAZING! So I watched Lehna and Zach while everyone else played games and that was interesting. It was a little taste of what it’s going to be like in a couple of months! Scary that’s all I have to say! I told Tait that we won’t be going anywhere w/out one another! I can’t imagine what it would be like trying to go shopping or any other activity for the most part by my self with TWO! NO WAY! So we had a good time eating birthday cake and wolfing down pizza. We watched the Purdue game and well that was a disappointment but that’s pretty typical lately.

On Sunday boy did I have a good time Tait and I worked in Lehna’s “new” room and we got through sooooo much crap! We still have some to go through but we did make some MAJOR headway! We were able to get all the way through the closet and put all of Lehna’s clothes in space totes… they weren’t like fab but they did do a good job. I was pleased with them. I don’t think Tait was impressed but I thought they were cool. I got almost 4 totes with 2 large trash bags into two large totes with a “small” tote and 3 big space bags Tait just said I just moved the stuff around but I think it looks better. If we have girl boy this kid isn’t going to need a THING! So the next step is to remove all the extra furniture and then get Lehna’s new furniture moved in. She needs a dresser so if anyone knows of where I can get my hands on one CHEAP let me know. I was very proud of us… and I threw away soooo much crap so I was proud over that too! So the next step will take a bit more planning b/c I will have to be able to get into the shed… to move the extra furniture. I just need to be able to put the stuff in there.

Another exciting thing is I got my garage door fixed. That was exciting after he fixed it he goes. “you are definitely going to want to get this door replaced” He said that the door is deemed “dangerous” he said that he had to fix some of the steel bars between the slats and stuff and he said that if the garage door comes off the pollies then we will want to take the opener off and use the door manually and I said “well it get us through the winter” and he said “probably” and I said that’s all I need it to do as long as I can get through the winter without having to scrap my car, that’s the goal you know for the winter! So maybe this spring we can invest in a new door for the garage. It’s one of those things that we will have to wait and see what happens.

Another project… I have decided that I can fix my couch cushions. I have decided that I can take the fabric from dad’s old chair and replace the fabric that’s on the couch. It won’t look 100 pretty but at least we won’t see the horrible cushions which we can see now. It will take me some time to do this but since dads chair it to the point of not being able to fix it I can use the fabric for the other seating in my house. So that’s my next goal and since I want to move that chair out of Baby Bs room this is the perfect excuse to tear it up and use the pieces… now if I can just sew in a straight square we’ll be all set. Anyone that knows my sewing abilities it’s kind of scary… I make blankets for people but they are never the right “size” and they hardly ever turn out with 90 degree angels so it will be a challenge but I think I’m up to it!

Here's the update for the Week!

I just wanted everyone to know that I did go to Baby B’s appointment this week and everything is hunky dory! Baby was moving around on the doctor soooo he found the heartbeat and then the baby moved so I just got to hear it for a second. But it was enough that the doctor said that the baby was fine… I asked him if he thought it sounded like a boy heartbeat or girl and he said he wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pool. I have decided that the Dr’s annoying “you see what I’m saying” is a speech impediment… He was talking to me about skiing and he kept saying “you see what I’m saying” like literally after every sentence and I was just thinking that surly this doctor doesn’t think I’m this retarded that he thinks that I don’t know what skiing is… LOL Soooooo I have decided that it is infact a flaw in his speech not that he thinks I’m retarded… at least that’s what I’m saying! And another tid bit about Baby B is Tait and I have decided to do an ultrasound of Baby B before the ultrasound the doctor gives me at 32 weeks! We have decided we are going to go November 18th to a clinic in Indy and have them do a 3D ultrasound… I can’t take waiting until week 32 can’t do it can’t do it! Last time I thought I didn’t have a choice but Jackie was good enough to supply me with information that lead me to a clinic in Indy… so I’ll be attending that for the ultrasound! I’m very excited!

Another fun this is this weekend Tait, Lehna, and I are going to go to the Purdue football game! Yep that’s right! My wonderful boss gave me his tickets for the game this weekend so we are going to use those so we only have to get a ticket for Lehna. This will be Lehna’s first football game for college she did fine at the high school game she liked to climb on the seats and stuff so we’ll have fun there… we’ll have to go to the snack stand and stuff to kind of stretch her legs and stuff but it will be fun I think. We are also going to tailgate so that will be fun too! I haven’t tailgating in so long! I think that we are going to do simple stuff I’m just interested in getting smore stuff b/c that’s what I REALLY want right now! So we will have to get that stuff.

Tait has his fall office party this Friday. I am a little nervous b/c I have not meet this people before besides a couple of them when I worked at Ladoga and it wasn’t under a good circumstance soooooooo we’ll see. Tait said there will be a hayride and the whole thing soooooo we’ll have to see how it goes. I think Lehna will like the hayride… Tait claims he’s never been on a hayride… I believe that as much as I do him growing up in South Carolina with his southern accent… he’s cute isn’t he folks! Got to love him. So it should be fun I think. Hopefully we are talking campfire food I love it! I could grow fat on hotdogs and smores thank goodness that these are fall foods!

Work this week… Well work has been up and down this week I have had some stressful things and then some things I can’t control to things that I’m like darn it if I would have done this part differently. I know it’s a learning process and I want to get better at it and I know the longer I do it the better I will get at it I just get frustrated at things… I know it’s a REAL shocker to those that don’t know me! My bosses are out of the office next week they are going on a trip out of the county so it should be interesting next week. We get to wear jeans any day next week soooo I’m VERY VERY excited about that! Jeans seem to make me feel better. I like dressing up to work on occasion so jeans is a nice change.

For those of you watching Dancing with the Stars I am disappointed they didn’t kick Jerry off this week! I frankly think it’s his time and don’t like the fact he will be one there next week! He’s just not that good.. I know he’s cute and stuff and it’s kind of go that gimmicky thing going for it… but at the same time… I don’t know it’s just kind of boring. I also love the dancing part hate the results show why someone decided that it needed to be an hour long is BEYOND me…way too long if you ask me. Unfortunately they didn’t ask me sooooo I’m stuck with the producer’s decision.

Well that’s about my life right now and all I have for now… I will update you to let you know how the weekend went.

Weekly Update!

I figured I’d better update for this week so here it is and all its glory!

This weekend Tait and I traveled north to visit Helen & Tim in Peru. Tim was home from North Dakota this weekend so we wanted Lehna to be able to see her. We went up on Friday night and Lehna was excited as we pulled up it was very sweet she was kicking her feet and everything it was so cute. So after we got her out of the car we ate dinner Helen made egg rolls and they were fabulous!!! Tait, Trent, & Tim went to the Northwestern vs. Purdue game and they won for those of you that don’t know. But the upset of the weekend was Indiana beating Iowa which is just all kinds of wrong. When the boys went off to watch the game Stephanie got to do some MUCH needed shopping for the Bell Bell and let me tell you I may have gone a little nuts I mean I don’t know Lehna actually needed snow pants but they were only 10 bucks sooooooo I figured why not and I got her another winter coat since I think she outgrew her last one. So we will have to take her outside LOTS AND LOTS or visit Grandma Jeanette LOTS and lots since its northern and it’s colder there! But they had sooooo many sales everything I got her was on sale so that’s my positive but I did spend wayyyyyy tooooo much on a child that will probably only be in these clothes for about 2 months! But I Tait said that if we have a girl then its well worth it and I agree! Tanna and I went together as she searched for a maternity shirt. It’s funny I even got some stuff for Tait but I didn’t by ONE thing for myself… I guess I figured that in a couple of weeks I’ll have to get some more shirts and clothes anyways for me and the expanding body so I figured that I would just wait why spend the money if you can’t have instant gratification I say!

On Sunday we came back home really early which was really nice b/c it gave me a chance to get all of the laundry done and a chance to do the dishes which I left two sinks full before we left so I thought it was all good. Lehna was upset when Helen and Tanna left to go to Williamsport so we left shortly after they did. So after we got all the things done cleaning up after the dogs and that kind of stuff I went through Lehna’s closet. I pulled out three trash bags full of clothes for this child! So I replaced all of her clothes with the new ones and weeded out all the clothes that didn’t fit her I had like 12 month stuff in her closet that just needed to be put away, I also pulled all of her summer clothes out it was kind of fun and sad at that same time. I still don’t have my space totes I know I know I need to get to post office to get them and I know that too but I’m just not available when the freaking office is open. I wish they were b/c I have tons of crap to put in them! I was looking at the calendar today thinking man that room has a ton of stuff that needs to be changed and well… I haven’t done anything to it yet… such a slacker aren’t I!

Tomorrow I have an appointment with Baby B well of course with Baby B I mean he isn’t coming out tomorrow… So hopefully everything will be fine with that… Just think 5 more weeks and we will do an ultrasound! Can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait! Not that I’m excited or anything! Tanna offered Sam’s sister at the hospital but I would have to come during the week and that doesn’t really work with my schedule. So we will just have to pay since the doctor is a big meany! Well I know this is a short entry but that’s life right now kind of boring and nothing really exciting happened this weekend and I don’t have big plans this week just normal work stuff.

The Pumpkin Patch

What lucky readers you all are you get TWO repeat TWO updates in ONE weekend! Wow you are sooooo special! We were lucky enough to be able to take pictures and get them off the camera ALLLLLL in the same day. Boy oh Boy we maybe adding pictures more often… well back to the update. Again the pictures may not go with the text but HEY THERE’S PICTURES JUST ENJOY THEM OKAY! J/K
The Pumpkin Patch
As promised we did go to the pumpkin patch today so Lehna could pick out her pumpkin. We arrived before they opened the first attempt so we had to try again once the opened but we were NOT disappointed again this year. The owner who was incredibly nice greeted us who explained how the pricing worked on the pumpkins, where the “nature trail” was located, and how to enter the corn maze. We didn’t go on the nature trail but we did go through the corn maze.
Lehna Looking at the Hay
It wasn’t much of a maze but it was fun. Lehna walked a little through it but mostly wanted to be picked up and carried through it, it must be intimidating for her. I was leading the way and I got to be the “spider web catcher” I dubbed myself this name b/c every 2 feet I walked into a NEW spider web. They were usually just a one strander but it still was annoying. We walked to the “end” of the maze and was greeted but a very large Indian tee pee I don’t know why they had a tee pee but they did and we walked inside and walked outside. Lehna was VERY brave she walked straight up to and went inside without any second thoughts. So we followed her and then we walked out of the maze. It wasn’t really much of a maze I mean there were different paths cut but I think they all ended in the same place.
The Steps she didn't want to get away from
After that we went to the cabin. They recently built this cabin about two years ago when we first started going to the pumpkin patch the cabin didn’t exist but they felt they needed it and so they built it. It’s kind of neat it’s a nice cabin. I don’t know what they do with it during the rest of the year but for the fall it’s a nice place to display gourds and pumpkins.
Pretty Flowers
Lehna liked to look at the flowers and play with the hay. There were these kids that were playing in the cabin and Lehna kept trying to go over to them and play. Which was cute but we wanted to pick out a pumpkin and she just wasn’t into it.
Daddy & Lehna
We walked around the different rows of the pumpkins and Lehna just kind of would touch them and then move on I don’t know if she was trying them out or what but we did decide on a nice size on of her and we got on for herself. We are going to have her write all over it with a magic marker for her decorating this year. We didn’t get this accomplished today but we probably will by next weekend, or should I say but Halloween and if not… well oh well.
"This feels Smooth"
I did take a number of pictures of her walking around looking at the different things but they are mostly of the back of her head b/c she refused to look my direction. But these are the shots I was able to capture that I thought were the cutest. Lehna was a VERY tired girl today she went to sleep at 7 right after she had half a hot dog. I guess the zoo and the pumpkin patch wore her out. So hopefully she’ll sleep well tonight. Well that’s all I got I hop you enjoyed our entry.

Lehna says “TA TA for Now!”
