What a weekend!

This is another busy weekend for the Wagner Family! This weekend we traveled to Peru to go th Grand CIRCUS CITY DAYS! Tait and I try to get there every year and so far we have been able to get there. Every once and awhile we don't get there.

This is was also a weekend of Firsts! So without further delay let me get into the meat of my update!

Tait took our children early to Peru on Friday since he had the day off and he has a new football game that he wanted to share with Trent. So I came after work. When I got there Tait was on the golf course with Trent so I got to see my girls and everyone else there at the Wagner homestead. Tait's Aunt and Uncle were also visiting from Williamsport so we got to see them as well. When Tait got back from golfing we took Lehna up to the carnival it was already 8 something so taking Maya would have been more trouble than anything. So we had some volunteers to watch Maya we went up town.

There are some people in this town that this is why they live in Peru is for this carnival every year and you can always kind of tell those people. They are the one's that are usually staked out sitting on the benches for HOURS at a time not budging or moving for anyone regardless of how long they have been there. The carnival this year was a little concerning this year they have added a BUNCH more rides this year and have taken away some of the food booths, which you know how many elephant ear booths do you really need but I was not impressed by the 'junkness' of the rides. It seemed to attract a ton of teenagers. The also set up the rides up a bit differently this year usually all of the rides and games are down behind the courthouse and by the jail this year they spread the rides out quite a bit more. Instead of being able to avoid the rides and all the chaos involved with the rides they put them on the end of Broadway so there was no way to avoid them at all. Which I don't have a problem with the rides overall I mean I think it's fine but I just like the opportunity of avoiding the whole scene although and we definitely couldn't do that this year there simply couldn't avoid it. It just made it harder to get around w/ a child in a stroller b/c of all the power cords and lines to walk through.

Lehna's First Ride on a Merry-Go-Round

The food booth selection just wasn't that there normally is it just was every different this year with the addition of the rides. We did run into a few people that we knew which was kind of fun but overall it was kind of a disappointment.

On Saturday we went down to the parade to check things out there. We went down to my grandma's house but there was no one there. We thought my grandma knew we were coming we arrived about an hour early before the parade. We found out later that they had already gone down to the parade and had actually scooped us out a spot. I decided instead of going down to our normal spot that we would just go to sit with Tait's family since we knew where they were at. We sat in the sun the entire length of the parade. I had put sun block on the girl’s b/c I figured they would need it, but Tait and I decided not to put sun block on, this was a mistake.

When's the Parade is going start?

The parade was pretty good overall it was a bit on the long side but other than that it was good. Maya slept the entire length of the parade. Lehna wasn’t so fond of the clowns; every time a clown came over to us she would get close to an adult and start to cry. All the little kids didn't like them Camryn actually ran behind the stroller and said that the doodle bops were going to get her. So the kids got their slue of candy, hats, and necklaces it was pretty fun overall. It was just a long parade. At the end of it as we walked back to our car we ran into my grandma & Aunt Annette and they informed us they had a nice shady spot for us by the library apparently we missed them. There were a number of tigers, lions, and goats in the parade. Lehna really enjoyed watching the horses going by.

'That's not a clown is it?'

After the parade we went back to Helen & Tim's and got ready to go swimming. I put sun block on the girls again put some on my face (but didn't put any where else, another mistake) and we took Maya & Lehna to Vicki's to swim. Vicki is a friend of Helen, we had our rehearsal dinner at their home and they have a heated pool. The pool was an awesome 84 degrees and Vicki kept apologizing to us for the coolness of the pool. We kept telling her that we are used to a cook 46 degrees at our home pool that we got for the girls this summer so anything was an improvement. It was a lot of fun I think Lehna really had a good time. She played on inter tubes and noodles and that type of thing and seemed to have a good time. We put Maya in the pool after she woke up from her nap. She just stared at the water and didn't cry she did a good job. It was really nice for them both. We got home and I knew it was going to be a problem with the lack of sun block for Tait and I b/c by 5 p.m. we were already starting to show DARK PINK! It was pretty sad. By the time the sun went down we were nice and red. Even the girls with two applications of sun block were pinkish. Lehna and Maya the next morning were nice and tan.

Maya is in the Pool!

That was our weekend it was pretty exciting overall. We spend a LOT of time outside playing and eating Freezie Pops! As you can tell from the pictures below!

Big Smile!

I Look Like My Daddy in this Picture!

I love this Rollercoaster!
A few days later…

I always start a blog update but I simply can’t finish an update in one sitting. Well I got the new Harry Potter book and I have started reading it. It’s pretty good so far it has it’s raises and falls when there is lots of things going on it’s a real page turner then there are just spells of just under nothingness and that’s when I am ready to put the book down for awhile. They are opening lots of questions but answering nothing so far. But I am enjoying it even though it just seems to be taking a LONG time to draw out everything…

This week at work the new client that I was supposed to have new orders from cancelled on Friday of last week, so all my hard work was basically for nothing, which was kind of sad. I wasn’t so sad that the job was cancelled b/c of the work I put into it I was just sad b/c now I couldn’t get 16 people to work. It’s kind of sad, but so far I have been able to place some of my people at other positions and that has really seemed to help.

I also had my review this week. It went well I guess, I don’t know really what I was expecting but it didn’t quite meet my expectations not that it was bad it just wasn’t what I expected. I got a good review overall I have some areas that I need to work on so at least I have some goals to work towards. I did get a raise so that was nice. Tait was excited to hear that. It wasn’t huge but again I don’t know really what to expect this being my first year with this company. So we’ll see what happens in the future.

This is going to be another busy weekend. We have an annual golf tournament that we play in this weekend so we will be off for that. I’m looking forward to it. It’s a little strange this is a BIG drinking tournament and I have always enjoyed it just for the drinking element but this year we have kind of shifted our “realms of things that are important” so we are going to focus on winning this year verse getting hammered. I’m SURE it will be a tough temptation but I really want to shift things in my life to better myself so this is just one of those things.

On Sunday Tait’s family is having a family reunion so we will be attending that. I’m looking forward to it. Last year Tait and I we actually at the hospital since Tait had his appendix removed the weekend it was last year so it will be nice to be able to join the family in some good fun. Tait’s cousin Travis is going to be married in a few short weeks so there will also be a wedding shower at the same time. It should be a nice occasion I’m looking forward to it. We are also planning on seeing Tait’s grandparents I know they really enjoy it when we bring the girls to visit with them. So that’s what’s going on it’s just one busy run after another. You’d think with all the running we do I would be like a size 0 unfortunately it doesn’t work that way… darn it!

Okay well have a great rest of the week and weekend!

Bye Bye!

Pictures for everyone to enjoy

Here's just a few pictures for everyone to enjoy! This is from the infamous photoshoot. Lehna was horrible but the babies were GREAT!

Guess who? Can you tell which one is Deklyn and which one is Maya?

That's RIGHT Maya is on the Left and Deklyn is on the Right!
All four cousins working together
Which babies didn't perform?

Nana and her babies

Maya's 3 month pictures

Maya has really changed in the last few months. She has really started to respond to voices. She watches Lehna with great delight and smiles and laughes as Lehna starts to entertain her.

Maya is starting cereal very slowly we are giving it to her in her morning and evening bottles only. She seems to enjoy it she eats it up with a vengence. I can't believe in about a month she will be eating food more regularly.

Maya has recently started to try to set up on her own. She of course can't do it yet but she curles her little belly and you can her grunt as she tried to pick herself up. She is all eyes as things come in and out of the room.

Enjoy your children for they don't stay little for long.

A Sunday afternoon update!

Lehna & Maya Together!

Well a few things have happened around our home that I wanted to update.

The first little bit of news is sad but still news. Tait and I have decided that it’s time we find a new home for Molly. We have talked to an animal shelter about her and since she has a past of attacking smaller dogs they said that she wouldn’t be able for adoption. So we didn’t want to have her immediately put to sleep we wanted to see if we could find a home for her first. We have listed her on Craig’s list and we put an ad in the Crawfordsville paper about her. We are hoping to find her a new home in a month’s time period. Part of the problem with Molly is she doesn’t do well with smaller dogs. Daisy has been attacked several times and I am fearful of the girls. Usually you can see what the motivation is as far as why they “get into it” and it’s usually food motivated however this last week Molly out of the blue attacked Daisy when she was coming outside. I just don’t want to risk that type of behavior with Lehna or Maya personally I don’t think she would attack them but I just want to make sure. Hopefully we will find a home for her but if we don’t in a month’s time then we will take her to the pound to be put to sleep. It’s a hard decision but I just don’t feel like we have any other choice. Daisy is probably only going to be around for another year or so before she will need to be put to sleep so I don’t want Molly to take her aggression out on the children. So if you know of someone who is looking for a dog that doesn’t have small dogs or children let me know.

Maya in the Jump-A-Roo!

The second bit of news is College football 2008 comes out on Tuesday at 12:01! For those of you that know Tait you know this is VERY IMPORTANT to him. He will now be able to spend hours of his time devoted to adding new players and “sorting” exciting hua!!! I tease Tait b/c he knows I love him so much! Hehehehe that’s for you baby!

Maya Sitting by herself
At work I have been assigned a new ‘potential’ client. I must admit I am a little nervous about it. We don’t have the account yet but I have a lot of pressure on me to do a good job and to get them some REALLY OUTSTANDING PEOPLE! The reason why there is pressure is we had this client before and they were HUGE to us well there was a management change at the plant and they decided to go totally away from staffing companies and have recently come back. I’m very nervous about it. What is insane is my review and the call for the 16 people are all within the same week. So my Review is going to be totally awesome or it’s going to totally suck! (sigh)

Life away from work has been pretty busy. Tait and I have become more involved with our church and have accepted new callings. I was recently called to serve as the young woman’s personal progress coordinator. Basically what the means is I make sure that the girls are staying on track with their personal progress goals and get their goals accomplished by the time they graduate high school. I love being called to work with the young woman’s it’s the group I was hoping to get assigned to work with. The ward is very small so there are only a total of 12 girls that are involved with the program and out of those just over half are active members. Tait was recently called to serve as the Sunday school president for our ward. He is responsible for 5 classes and he is to make sure that each class has teachers, subs, and etc. Both callings involve time away from the family but they aren’t too bad they could be much worse. They definitely make time fly by during the week.

This coming weekend it Circus City Days. I would like to attend and take both girls to the parade and go downtown and stuff. I think it will be really fun for Lehna since went to the Strawberry festival Lehna really had a good time riding the ponies and I know that they have small rides for the children so Lehna should have a good time. Hopefully we’ll be able to go to swim while we are there b/c that would be fun too. Lehna has really started to enjoy playing in the water this summer so I know she would really enjoy it.

It’s hard to believe that his month is already half over. I just can’t believe how time is just flying by. Christmas is only 6 months away. (For those of you out there that are an early shopper) I am not an early shopper I can safely say that I’m a last minute shopper.

I would like to see the new Harry Potter Movie eventually it’s not something that I feel like I have to rush out and see like the previous movies. I am planning on getting a copy of the new book this weekend but that’s as far as my “HARRY POTTER MANIA” goes.

Big Smiles for the Week!
Well that’s my update and I hope you all have a great week!

Week Update

Well I wanted to take a moment to update my blog. I had a few minutes to spare and I didn’t what I had to say to get age on it… b/c I hate that.

Okay so last Friday I go out to my car at lunch to put my check in the bank and I try to start the car and the darn thing won’t turn over. So I’m like GREAT! So I called Tait to let him know the good news about the stupid car and to try to figure out how I was going to get home. The last time my car broke my coworker suggested a car place here in Lafayette to take it to she said they do a great job and they have never had any problems with them. So I called the car place to see if they would tow it to them and they did. So I waited for Tait to come pick me up and he brought our girls into the office since he was a little early. When they got here Tait suggested that I take Lehna to the potty b/c she mentioned about having to go in the car. So I took her back to the bathroom and of course she states that she doesn’t need to go. So I didn’t want to push the issue I know that they are VERY sensitive at this point when it comes to going to potty and I don’t want to ‘damage’ any progress we have been making. So I didn’t make her go. Well that was my first mistake. I was getting my purse and Tait goes “well I guess Lehna did have to go to the potty” and I walk around the counter and Lehna has pottied on the floor and she was then standing in a big puddle starting to cry. I told her that it was okay and I told her to just stand there for a second and Lehna states that ‘she has to go potty’ I was like Lehna you just WENT potty. So I got some cleaner (of course it wasn’t quite 5 yet so EVERYONE was still in my office) and I start to clean up after my daughter and then here comes the SECOND mistake. Well we used to have diapers for Lehna in the car but apparently we have used them all up. B/c we went to get one and there were NO diapers… nor did have panties nor did I have a clean pair of shorts for her.

So we do what any crazy parents would do. We laid her down and put Maya’s diaper on her… of course they didn’t fit so we had to TAPE the diaper to her so it would stay shut. After we did that I then put a blanket around her so no one could see how I had to make adjustments… Tait jokingly suggested we go out to eat at Logan’s I just rolled my eyes and told him I thought it wasn’t such a good idea!

Once we got home I was going to take Lehna’s diaper off and put her in panties she wanted to wear them. This was my THIRD MISTAKE. We were standing in the living room and I took her diaper off and the little rotten rat starts to pee right there in the middle of the floor like she was a dog. So I raised my voice to her asking her why she did that. Tait then told me not to yell at her. So I told her I was sorry for yelling at her and I took her to the potty and we cleaned up her mess then put her in a diaper.

I have to tell you potty training I thought was going to be tough but this isn’t what I expected it to be. She is really doing well with the whole potting trying I mean we could have a lot more problems and she really seems to be getting the idea of it we just keep having accidents. She wants to wear the panties out places like church and the store and stuff and I keep putting diapers on her. I just don’t think I can trust her quite yet to make sure she doesn’t pee everywhere especially with the little display she did on Friday! She does really well at home though she wants to sit on the potty and will do it and ask and it’s great but sometimes she just gets too busy to stop to go. At daycare it’s kind of touch and go last week she had lots of accidents at the beginning of the week and then she had nothing until Friday then like yesterday she had problems at daycare but the night she did fine… so I don’t know it’s kind of touch and go. I just don’t know how to be consistent with her. If anyone has some suggestions I am open to hear them. I am truly afraid to take the child out in public since she has had a solid week in underwear yet so I won’t be doing that.

On Sunday Tait and I went to church and Maya has really been trying to talk she cooes and squeals all the time and it is the cutest thing I have ever seen. She really practices talking all the time we have tried to record it and she normally stops once the camera comes out. But I’m sure we will get it eventually. Well on Sunday Tait was sitting next to her and we were singing the song and all of a sudden Maya starts to ‘talk’ it was like she was trying to sing the song with Tait. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. She is really getting big FAST! I can’t believe just how much she has developed in her short little three months.

One thing I didn’t mention until now is we got all four kid’s pictures taken on Saturday at JCPenny. Tanna brought her children and we wanted to get all four together, the two girls together, then the babies separate. I have to say that getting the four all together was difficult but it wasn’t too bad we did end up with 2 pictures that we are going to use. They aren’t like the BEST PICTURES EVER but you know they are little and young so I was happy with what we got. Then we took both Deklyn and Maya and put them together… they were sooooo cute! They both pretty much cooperated for their pictures. I can’t wait to be able to scan the pictures when we get them back it will be next week so that will be fun!

On Monday night Tait and I got to have a date. We haven’t had a date in A LONG TIME. I haven’t seen a movie since the last star wars came out almost 2 years ago. So I was so excited to be able to go out to a movie. We went to see Evan Almighty and it was really FUNNY! I really enjoyed it. It was a little churchy but not too bad it wasn’t enough to totally put me off. Afterwards we had dinner it was really nice. My boss had given all of us movie cards and gift cards to a restaurant for Christmas so we basically had dinner out on my boss last night. It was really nice. It was nice not to have to fight Lehna for things and make her sit down and not to worry if Maya would break out crying at any point b/c she wanted a bottle. It was really nice. My bosses actually watched these girls. Kaity was feeling pretty bad for us since we hadn’t had a date in a while and we had to cancel the date we had originally had planned b/c Maya got sick so Kaity volunteered to watch the girls. Kaity was watching them at Chuck and Kathy’s house so I was just hoping that they were going to be good. I can’t think of anything worse then to have my two children act like monsters to my boss. But my kids did me proud Lehna was great she barely cried when we left and that was it and Maya was of course great too. They took both girls to the Columbia Zoo and the park. Lehna had such a great time. She talked about it all the way home she kept saying that she wanted to swing. Lehna really liked the petting zoo at Columbia Park she would follow the little mini horses around and would chase the chickens. So I’m glad they had such a great time.

On Wednesday of this week Tait and I took the girls to the park in Crawfordsville. Lehna loved swinging on the swings and going down the slide. This park was right next to an ice cream stand so we had some ice cream as well. Lehna wanted to dress herself so she choose for herself a very pretty long sleeved pink, red, and green sweater with her yellow cotton shorts. It was very nice. I kept explaining to people that she dressed herself when they looked at her. I had brought another shirt b/c I knew she would get REALLY hot in her sweater so as we played I asked her if she wanted to take her sweater off and put on a tee shirt and she said yes so I changed her into a shirt that actually matched her shorts and she was much cooler after that. Her little curls were getting wet b/c her head was sweating so much. After the park we went home and everyone took a short nap which was nice. We did put the girls to bed early. We decided not to get fireworks b/c all day it looked like it was going to storm and the weather said it was going to storm in the evening so we decided to pass on the fireworks. We got to hear all of the neighbor’s fireworks though they were really loud but I was able to sleep through them and so were the girls.

Lehna is in this stage of “I Do It” I mean she’s been in this stage quite a long time and since we have started potty training she has really got it BAD. She doesn’t want us to help her with anything when it’s time to potty which is kind of annoying but I’m working on my patients so that has really helped. She is kind off funny she will want you to walk down the hall with her then once she gets there she tells you to “go way” so usually I just pop into Maya’s room while I wait and then poke my head around on occasion just to make sure she’s not playing. Then I get her after she’s done so she can wash her hands and all of that stuff. It’s quite exciting I assure you. She wants to do everything herself so brushing her hair putting on her clothes EVERYTHING she wants to do herself.

Well that’s the update so far for this week. This is like a living document it always takes me a couple of days to get it finished so I always cover a few days in like a long update. So enjoy. I hope to add pictures this weekend.

Update!!!!

Welcome to another performance of the Wagner Circus. It has been one heck of a whoorling weekend! We decided Friday afternoon about 3 p.m that we were going to go to Peru for the weekend sooooo it was kind of chaotic getting things ready for that.

I hadn’t planned on going to Peru on the weekend so my home wasn’t “ready to leave” condition if that makes sense. I have a ton of laundry scattered all over our bedroom floor and the laundry room was piled as well so I did what most people do and I took “essentials” to my mother-in-laws and she did our laundry J Thank you Helen! She actually did the girl’s laundry, Tait and I have enough clothing that we didn’t have the “need” right away but the girls their clothes are kind of limited especially Lehna’s wardrobe so I had to bring all of hers and I grabbed Maya’s as well b/c I didn’t want her to mold b/c of the nasty formula that gets on her clothing. So Helen was very kind and did the girl’s laundry and she also did the stuff we wore all weekend.

So after work I got home to get the house picked up b/c we had the missionaries scheduled to come over and to start packing. By the time Tait got home I had gotten the house picked up and the girls packed. Then Tait and I packed at the same time to get things ready. We had planning on barricading the dogs in the kitchen again so we got things ready for that as well and by the time the missionaries got there we were ready to go. So after they left we left shortly after them.

Lehna was so excited to go to Peru to visit her Nana and Papa. Lehna and Maya were both good for the most part when we visited them. Tait got to go to the race track on Saturday night and we played golf on Saturday morning. We didn’t go to church and I felt a little guilty for that but other than that we had a good time.

When we got home Lehna wanted to wear big girl panties. Landyn is currently wearing underwear so she saw him wearing them all weekend and asked to wear them. So I promptly put them on her. I mean if she’s willing to wear them then I’m willing to put them on her. And she didn’t have an accident all evening. Then the next day Lehna asked to wear them to daycare. Again wasn’t going to deny. On Monday she had 3 accidents so that wasn’t very successful. But so far the rest of this week she has had NO MORE ACCIDENTS at daycare. She did have an accident last night but that was it. They said at daycare she’s asking to go potty so I’m VERY proud of my Lehna.

Maya is really growing like a weed she has moved into 6 month clothing already. I put away her smaller clothes not b/c she can’t fit into them anymore but b/c I have some many summer clothes that I’m ready for her to wear. This morning I caught the little rat trying to sit up on her own. She’s such a happy baby she really reacts when you talk to her. She just smiles and kicks her little legs it’s just amazing how happy she is. I don’t want her to grow up very quickly though b/c I don’t know if Tait and I will have any more children. She’s just a pumpkin baby I know that sounds odd but she’s small and round. I just can’t believe how content she is just sitting in her baby seat or swing just observing what’s going on. She’s a good baby very easy, of course this probably means she’s going to be a hard teenager but right now I enjoy her. Oh the idea of having teenagers… YIKES and teenage girls on top of that DOUBLE YIKES! I’m glad I have a few more years before I have to worry about that. I’m just glad that they don’t come out as teenagers at least I have a few years to prepare.

This weekend sounds like it might be busy as well. Tanna and I have decided to take all four munchkins to get their pictures taken together… Tanna will probably agree that when we took just Lehna and Landyn to get their pictures taken that it was QUITE A CHORE I can safely say it was awful. So I don’t know why we think that we can manage two MORE children and get them cooperate all at the same time. I guess we are just gluten for punishment. I know that when we took Lehna to get her two year pictures she was horrible. So I don’t know if she will cooperate or not… I hope for the better but I’ll prepare for the worst if we can’t get them altogether then oh well. I just want Maya’s picture to be cute. We are also going to have Maya and Decklyn’s picture taken together so that will be cute. Then we were invited for a family get together in Williamsport this weekend as well so we will be attending that if all goes well.

I don’t think we have anything going on for Sunday yet… but it’s only Thursday.

Well that’s all that life is right now. Busy and not busy all at the same time. I enjoy busy though helps keep me out of trouble!

Another Two Week Update

Okay so I haven’t been really good on keeping this blog update but I have been trying to do it in like two week intervals… so this maybe a bit longer then normal b/c I have so much to say so much has happened.

The first weekend in June we had a lot of family over. The reason why is b/c Tait was baptized on Saturday and we had Maya’s blessing on Sunday at church so we had family that came to participate in the craziness.

Tait was baptized on Saturday and it was a very nice ceremony. He did have to go twice b/c the missionary messed up the prayer and when they dunked him his entire body didn’t get under he was missing his upper hand. Then the second time they did it everything went off without a hitch. The only true problem was is the baptismal font is new to this church so the time filling the water it was supposed to be a like an hour and a half so it was only like ½ full so the missionary struggled a little bit with Tait and helping him back up. The floor is really slippery anyways and when the tank is only ½ full makes it a bit more difficult. After the baptism we went back to our home where my grandmother provided quite a spread of sandwiches and chips for us all to enjoy.

On Sunday we then all went to church for Tait’s confirmation and also for Maya’s blessing. The bishop said that it was definitely a Wagner Show and he was right. After church we then went to the park for a BBQ and some family fun. I don’t have pictures of the events b/c I was just too busy I did bring my camera I just didn’t take any pictures.
Lehna & Maya

So this past weekend we went to the Strawberry festival which is in Crawfordsville. WE have lived her for the past four years and we had yet to attend the festival but we figured now that Lehna was a bit older and we had Maya that it would be a good opportunity for us to enjoy the tradition.

Lehna playing Plinko
Lehna had a blast I think we played some games. Some we cheated at b/c she was so young but she got some jewelry and candy. I tried to interest her into getting into one of those inflatable castles but she wouldn’t really hear of it. She didn’t want anything to do with it. But we put her on the pony rides and at first I took her and she was so scared she clung to me as we walked around in the circle but by the time the ride was over she was sitting by herself and holding onto the saddle. She said she had a good time.
Lehna & Pony
After we took her to the children’s part we went to go get something to eat. I was really hoping to get some strawberry shortcake since it was the strawberry festivle but we had a heck of a time finding it. So we tired strawberry tacos instead and they were pretty tasty. There was a band that played so we watched that for a little bit and I tired to convince Lehna to dance but she really didn’t want to so I didn’t push the issue. After we got done eating a quick lunch we went to the Colt’s Caravan which they had a few things on display and that was kind of fun looking at that stuff. They had this thing where you could guess the different referee signals and I didn’t do to well. I thought I knew the signs but I was wrong on so many of them and some of them I didn’t even know what they were signaling.
Lehna, Me, And Pony
Lehna enjoying her Tiger Ear
We then went to go back on the horses again b/c Lehna kept asking to go back on them so we did that after the stop at the Colt’s Caravan. Lehna was so excited to get on the ponies and was just jumping with excitement.
Colt's Caravan
The strawberry festival was about like Circus City Days except it was smaller. I did enjoy that all the food places were in one location and the kids section was also in it’s own section that made it nice. So I definitely want to take Lehna to circus city days come July so she can have fun at that carnival as well.
Tait & Lehna
That was pretty much our weekend. It was busy but it was fun. Next weekend is Father’s Day and we have convinced Julie, Jackie’s Sister, to watch our rugrats so we can go out to dinner and watch a movie. It’s been a while since we have seen a movie so it will be nice to have date.

Two week update!

Well it’s been about two weeks since my last update and it’s time for an update. Last weekend we were in Peru sooooo I wasn’t able to update then so here it is.

I started back to work two weeks ago and things have been pretty busy at work. Which it’s kind of an odd horse I mean we are busy but our hours, which affects our bonuses is low so I don’t know. My boss reassures us that we are going to rebound and we are in GREAT shape and it’s all up to marketing. UNFORTNATLY for me I AM A HORRIBLE at sales calls. I know it’s partly b/c I don’t do them enough so I don’t practice but at the same time it’s another thing that I just don’t like them. I mean I HATE calling ANYONE and asking them for anything and it’s even harder when you have to try to get people to listen to what you have to say… especially in a world of people HATTING telemarketing… which is kind f what I do in a not so fancy way… I mean I am not given a script which most teleamarketers do get that… and I think there are scripts but I just don’t think that is the solution either… I just have to suck it up and get it over with then…. It WILL be easier, but other than that little part work is great. It’s wonderful to get back into a routine and establish myself back in my position. I really like being able to place people at jobs it’s really a great feeling and we have really gotten some deserving people in our system and it’s nice to be able to help them. So work is GREAT!

Maya is doing great as well she is now 2 months old she has her check up next Monday so we’ll be able to see how big she is. Everyone that sees her says she’s petite, which I don’t think I would describe my chunky monkey as petite, but I guess everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. She really is responding to people. Her smiles are so grand and inviting it just makes me want to just nibble on her she’s just so sweet. She is just a doll I mean she’s patient (for the most part) and doesn’t ask for much in return. Her personality is just already so different then Lehna’s which I can’t wait until she gets older just to see how she changes and grows in her own personality. I don’t have very many people tell me she looks like Tait or Lehna which to me she looks exactly like Lehna when she was this age but everyone says no… nor do they say she looks like me which when people say that I kind of raise a questioning brow b/c she definitely looks related to me I mean her eyes are exact copies of mine but what the heck do I know anywise.

Lehna is still doing great with her she still likes her mommies time but she also let’s me love on her sister at times. She really is very protective of her sister though she doesn’t like it when other little kids touch her or get near her so that just makes me really proud when she is protective of her sister. Lehna is just a mimic of us so much this afternoon I was simply calling Maya’s name and then kissed her on the hands and Lehna would imitated me the entire sequence of things I was doing to her which was so sweet. It’s scary just how observant she is though, and makes you really stop to think what you can and cant’ do in front of her. Take for example potty training.

Lehna this last weekend went with us to Peru and her cousin Landyn has been learning potty training… well Landyn is a little boy and he has MASTERED peeing outside in the yard to a science… and inside peeing well they haven’t been as successful with, but Lehna has been watching Landyn standing up with he is peeing well Lehna has been trying to mimic this very stunt. When we came home on Sunday Lehna announced she needed to go pee and she ran back into the restroom and pulled down her pull up and promptly standed in front of the toilet pretending to “hold” herself and tried to pee… (Sigh) when I asked her what she was doing she said “I go potty” (sigh) I then tried to explain to a two year old why she didn’t need to hold herself (b/c there is NOTHING to hold) and how being a girl means she has to sit down to pee. She simply stared at me and like a very obedient little girl turned around and sat on the potty and said “I pee in the potty” and go up and ran down the hall way with a complete naked butt. (Sigh) Over the course of the week I have seen her attempt peeing standing up again but quickly tell her that she needs to sit down to potty b/c she is a little girl. It’s amazing just how much this little girl mimics. So everyone around her needs to realize that b/c let me tell you when you “think” she’s not listening that is when she’s tuned in the most so you have to be careful what you say around her.

Some more exciting news for our family is Tait has decided to become a member of my church and he is going to be baptized next weekend. We are going to make it quite an event b/c we decided that we would also have Maya blessed on the same weekend so we could have a GIANT bbq and celebration. I am so excited for Tait and my family b/c we are now one more step closer to being an eternal family. A goal I have always wanted for my family and myself. We are very excited and I know that Tait is making a good decision and I hope his faith continues to grow and we learn more about the gospel and of our Heavenly Father.

Some more good news is most of my family probably remembers my best friend Sarah. Well Sarah was incredibly important to me and she was like my sister I shared so much of my youth with her and my dreams with her and she meant so much to me. Well about 10 years ago I was not a very good friend to Sarah and I betrayed her and our friendship was completely and utterly dissolved and I was left with a completely empty space in my heart. I never thought I would ever get to speak to Sarah again b/c I know how much she hated me and rightly so. Well last weekend I went to church in Peru and Sarah was there. I kept glancing over to her trying not to look over in her direction b/c I didn’t want to draw attention to her or anyone else that I was looking over there. Well I was so frightened when I saw her b/c I knew that she was going to ignore me and possibly even say horrible things to me again rightly deserved. Well I only stayed for part of church and left right after sacrament. Well my grandmother told me that she talked to Sarah and she told me to call her. I was so frighten what she was going OT happen and later on Sunday afternoon I decided to face my fears and called her. Sarah was so happy to hear form me and we talked for awhile. Over the next couple of days Sarah and I have gotten a chance to say all of those things that we wanted to say to one another that we didn’t get to say over 10 years ago. Part of me is so sad that Sarah couldn’t be in so many things in my life and I told her just that. I missed not being able to talk to her about plans for after prom or which college we were going to attend or even having her in my wedding. I mean so many things we didn’t get to share in and it just makes me so sad. I am so glad that we are starting to talk again to kind of restart a friendship that I thought was completely gone. I can’t wait to hear more about what has happened to Sarah in the last 10 years and hope soon we can catch up even more b/c I miss her as my sister.

It’s amazing how many things that have changed for the better since I have starting going back to church. I mean not to get sappy or anything but I am truly blessed. Tait has asked me to speak at his baptism and at first I was kind of upset that I had to do it but now I’m glad that I was asked. It’s something that really is important to me and I just didn’t realize how important until now.

I PROMISE I WILL ADD PICTURES SOON!

A Short RANT!

I just wanted to write a little rant about how much I HATE the post office here in my freaking town. Besides the whole fact we don't have mail delivery to our home really is CRAZY in this day and age but the other side that the people hate us makes it even WORSE! Since I have been home for the past six weeks I have been able to check the mail on a pretty regular basis... Well today I went to go check the mail and there was only like two little things in our box and Tait and I have both been expecting things in the mail and we haven't recieved them yet so I figured that I would check to see if they had ANYTHING for us back on the shelf... Well I have both girls with me today so I park in the non parking spot b/c I am going to "run" in there and I wanted to be able to watch the girls from the window (it's not even 12 feet in the post office from the curb) so I go in and there is this lady that is seriously mailing like 12 billion packages so I stand behind her thinking that since she has so many packages surely the counter lady will spare a glance my way since I was obviously waiting to be waited on. Well the two are just talking back and forth and she doesn't even acknowledge that I was standing there... so I popped back outside since I didn't want to leave the girls for so long alone in the car but I figured that since I could still see the window from the car I would pop back in there once they were done. Well as I'm standing there feeding Maya a bottle there was another lady that came in and she walked over to her box then walked over to window and got her package... the lady acknowledged her and even gave her her stuff totally ignoring me when I was in there. So I got pissed and was muttering under my breath b/c I didn't want to leave Maya again since she wanted to finish her bottle, but this entire time I am watching the billion packages being processed and trying to be as patiently as I can but in my mind I'm thinking... I just want to go home... but I figured since I waited that long... why not wait a little longer. So the lady was moving the final packages off the counter and I went back in. The two ladies still talked like I wasn't there and the lady with the packages turned around and goes "oh sorry about all of this" and I just kind of nodded and smiled. The lady finally left and the lady at the counter goes "can I help you" really crappy and I go "do you have ANYTHIING for box 2 since we haven't gotten anything besides just a few things?" and she goes "I have a TON of stuff for box 2" and I go "Really? I have NEVER recieved a slip stating that I had stuff" and she just ignored me and came back with a TON AND A HALF OF MAIL and THREE BOXES! I was more then pissed and I go "why didn't I get a slip" and she goes "I'm sure you have gotten one in the past" like this was supposed to be the explaination I was pissed.

So the reason for the rant is I wanted to apologize to all of those that sent us gifts for Maya's birth that we haven't sent Thank you cards for the reason why is b/c of the people at the post office. So they are in the mail right now and you should be getting them by the end of next week. I am so sorry.

Pictures Here Pictures Everywhere

As promised I was able to get some pictures up for you so ENJOY!

The other day Lehna picked out her own clothes to wear after her bath so I took a picture of it b/c I thought it was soooo cute! She defintely doesn't understand the "matching" concept but I was proud that she was able to bring me both a shirt and a pair of pants!

Some dogs are just MADE for kids and let me tell you even though Daisy is the biggest pain in the butt she was defintely made for children. Her temperment with Lehna is perfect. Lehna plays with this dog all the time... everything from giving her hugs (LIKE YOU SEE BELOW) OR putting her baby blankets on her, to stepping on her (accidently of course) Daisy has never bitten or even nipped at Lehna which mades her perfect for us. (Even though she can be the most ANNOYING dog in the world!

Lately we have been spending HOURS outside this past week mainly b/c we purchased a swing set for Lehna & Maya we saved our change for about 6 months and any birthday gifts in which the girls recieved money we used towards it. It just goes to show you a penny saved is worth it! Lehna LOVES to swing so we spend many hours outside pushing her swing and blowing bubbles. This picture is of Lehna pushing her "baby" in the swing. Luckily we have a pinic table bench so we can push Lehna and not have to stand for the length of time she wants to swing.

Maya on the other hand would much rather spend her days sleeping or being WIDE awake in the pouch snuggie thing that I wear. She will fall asleep in this contraption and it is REALLY nice when she doesn't want to be put down or when the person holding her has to be standing up... for some reason it makes all the different, but for many of the parents out there holding a baby and standing up for LONG periods of time can be killer on the back so this thing allows me to hold her and still allows me to get things done at the same time. As I'm holding her I can just look down at her and see her darling face.

Here is a sweet picture of one of the rare occasions I was able to put her in the swing and actually have her stay asleep.

Lehna seems to really enjoy Maya. She usually tries "playing" with Maya and she will mimick anything that I do with Maya such as talking to her and making funny sounds to her. As I was trying to captures Maya's smiles Lehna got down and I was able to capture the two girls responding to one another. Maya will look for Lehna when she talks and when Lehna starts talking Maya will start to smile and respond it's really amazing. I just hope that the girls still enjoy each other when they are 12 & 14 years old... Lord help us all if not!

As luck would have it I WAS able to capture one of Maya's beautiful smiles. I was NEVER able to capture Lehna's smiles until she was MUCH older so I am glad that I have on of Maya. She has one little dimple on her left check that will peek out from time to time when she smiles. She's such a happy baby it's just so wonderful.

We did get our pictures back from JCPenny and since my scanner doesn't talk to my computer I had to kind of take these creatively and then I had to "adjust" the color so I apologize for the suckness of them... but at least you can see them... right!

This is our NEW family picture. I have to admit I don't like it as much as the pictures we had taken at Chirstmas but I still think it's cute... and poor Tait always having to lay on the floor...
This is Lehna's Two year picture. She was SUCH A PAIN IN THE BUTT the day we got our pictures taken. It was a total nightmare and this was the very LAST picture they took of her... the only way she would go out on the back drop by herself was to kind of chase her with the stool and then take it away from her and then she would laugh and do it all over again... And in doing this "trick" we FINALLY got a geniune smile.

Maya was pretty good during the photo shoot. I figured we would have all pictures of her eyes closed, but she was wide awake and actaully she wanted to eat during the session so we kind of teased her with the bottle but at least she had her eyes open.

These two pictures the quality on them is pretty sucky but they are really cute pictures and I just could NOT go without posting them so if you are able to see them in person I'm sure you will enjoy them a lot more b/c they are beautiful in person.

Here's one just for the art factor. This is baby Maya's feet in Tait's hands. I just think it is so sweet just to see her tiny feet the feet that I was waiting to kiss in her daddy's very large strong hands it's just an emotional picture I think... not to get too sappy of course...

And the last two pictures are for the grandparents out there... Here is one more smile from both of your grandchildren!

Have a good night and I hope this has satisfied your need for pictures for awhile...

Another two week update!

Well I know it has been about two weeks but we have been pretty busy around here. I can’t believe that Maya is already ONE MONTH OLD! It’s totally insane let me tell you!

Maya Update!
The great news first… Maya had her hearing test yesterday at her Month old appointment and she passed both ears. The doctor said that she has perfect hearing so I was VERY relieved to hear that. She also is a big 10 lbs. 4 oz. and she’s 21 inches long. So she’s growing and growing… Most people that see her think she’s so little and I think just holding her you probably wouldn’t guess that she was weighing in a 10.4 but she is she’s my little stuffed sausage. She has been smiling quite a bit and we discovered that she has a dimple, which is really cute. I will “try” to capture it but don’t hate me if I can’t. She is also responding to voices she looks for Lehna when she talks which I think is super sweet and she will usually look my direction if I’m talking around her. She is also sleeping through the night which is FABULOUS! She sleeps from about 9:30 p.m. to about 3:30/4:30 (some where in that hour) which is GREAT! Of course getting her back to sleep once is a little rough she wants to play and just be awake but usually after about an hour she falls back to sleep. She’s a really good baby though she usually just cries to eat it is a little difficult when I want to lay her down in the afternoon and she wants to be held so I found that her trick is to swaddle her and that usually “tricks” her into thinking she’s still being held.

Lehna Update!
The great news first for Lehna… we are potty training… and so far things are looking GREAT (it’s early of course)! I bought her big girl underwear and she seems to really like them. I put her in her underwear for about 5 hours on Monday and NO ACCIDENTS I asked her if she wanted to go potty like 5 million times but she did GREAT. I then took her out to Wal-Mart and I put a diaper on her then and when we came back I put her back in her underwear and she did have an accident… so we did have some progress. They are REALLY working with them at daycare they said they want to have them potty trained in 3 weeks. Which she goes three times a week starting this week so we will have to continue to work with her at home but she really likes wearing her big girl pants so I was excited. Hopefully we can meet her teacher’s goal of 3 weeks. All of the two years olds are ready for the potty that’s why they are doing it so intently. Lehna is still adjusting to baby Maya she has had a LOT more fits since Maya has arrived but I don’t know how much of that is her being two and how much is her jealously. She will come to me when I’m rocking Maya and ask to be rocked. Which usually I will either put her up with me or I pass Maya off it just depends on how late it is. I know that sounds odd but if it’s late enough where Lehna will fall asleep then I want to take that opportunity so I can put her in her bed to start with instead of having to move her later. We are still struggling with that but we are making progress once she falls asleep we put her in her bed… she will wake up though and we move her back but then we will move her again once she falls asleep again. I really would like BOTH girls in their own beds by the time Maya is two months old… sooooo hopefully.

I wanted to let everyone know that in my last update I neglected to announce that Tait received a raise at work! I didn’t mean to not mention it last time but I did, they are now doing their raises by merit and he did VERY well which I was very proud of him so CONGRADULATIONS TAIT!

Another piece of news is Tait and I have been started attending the Crawfordsville LDS church. We have been going for the past three weeks and we have had regular meetings with the missionaries. The thing that I really enjoy about it is we are learning all types of new people and that has been wonderful. This ward has several YOUNG families so we have been meeting lots of people with children about the ages of ours so it’s really nice to make some new friends. The missionaries have asked Tait if he would be interested in being baptized and at this point Tait isn’t sure yet and I’m okay with that. I know that (for those that ARE familiar with the church) some things may seem really strange to him and confusing so I don’t blame him for having some hesitation. Most of you know that I am a member but I have been inactive for about 10 years. I have to say going back to church is really like feeling like I’m going home. It’s really a good warm feeling when I’m there and I’m so excited that Tait is starting to investigate the church. So keep us in your prayers. There are so many new things that I am learning about the church. Tait and I are in the Gospel Principles class and this is kind of like the class that teaches you the different elements of being a member it’s kind of like the owners manual and I am learning so many new things. I mean even though I am a member there are still so many things that I am learning. Tait has questions about and I'm able to answer some things but then other times I don't know... so I have to ask someone else... This Sunday I am going to ask the bishop about getting Maya blessed so I will give more information about that when I know. They said that it would probably be June 1st, but it depends on the bishop and I would like to do another BBQ after the blessing… since it will be in Crawfordsville I would like to have the BBQ after church on Sunday instead of the event being in Peru like Lehna’s was… But again I will pass on that information when I know.

Last weekend I took the children to Peru to my cousin B.J’s wedding. The bride just had a baby two weeks ago so she was a definite trooper. I don’t think I would want to get married two weeks after having a baby but she looked great it was a very nice wedding. My Uncle Stephen was the officinal for them and it was a good ceremony. Tait was on call last weekend so I had Lehna and Maya by myself but it wasn’t too bad since most people wanted to hold Maya and I kind of wrestled with Lehna when I needed too but she was REALLY good so it wasn’t bad at all. After the wedding we went to visit Nana Helen. The sandbox has been removed (thank goodness) but the kids had a great time playing with one another. We spent most of the afternoon in outside. Lehna LOVES to swing so we stayed outside and talked while the kids played… of course no visit wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the OUTSIDE sandbox so Lehna of course came home sandy… but she did have a bath once got home… and she was out like a light once we got home she has a GREAT time!

This weekend my mom is coming to Indiana so that will be really fun! I don’t have details of when we are going to get together yet but I’m sure by this weekend I’ll have some idea of what’s happening when. Hopefully it will be a nice weekend so we can take the kids outside to play. Lehna got a NEW swing set last Sunday so we have spent A TON of time outside the last couple of days. Luckily all you have to Do is pull a bench up and push her while you sit… b/c I don’t think I could stand for as long as she wants to be on the swing. We also have been playing with bubbles quite a bit. Lehna likes to pop them and she does have her try at trying to make them… it seems to work best when there’s a breeze outside… then she doesn’t get frustrated when the bubbles don’t come right away.

Well that’s my update for now… I do have pictures to update since I have been taking quite a bit since I have been home… unfortunately Tait didn’t bring the laptop home this evening so I will have to upload them when I have that guy… so hopefully very SOON. Thanks for reading about us and take care!

Update update whose got the update…

Okay so it’s been a couple of days since I have last updated but I have to tell you trying to balance two new children is A LOT different then trying to balance one. So I’ve been busy and on top of that I have had my mom for the past week then we went to Tait’s parents for a couple of days so I haven’t been home and yahda yahda I’ve been busy okay so DON’T JUDGE ME! LOL just kidding of course

Well those past couples of weeks have been busy and it’s been an adjustment period for all of us. It’s hard to believe that not more then 12 days ago I was still pregnant wishing for the whole thing to be over with. Crazy just how fast things change isn’t it? Well I’m still glad I’m no longer pregnant but it has definitely taken Lehna a couple of days to decide whether or not she was going to be “difficult or easy” with the new baby. Of course today just might have been a bad day AND we have been over at the Wagner’s for the past couple of days so now we are in the “reprogram” mode. She gets away with EVERYTHING when we are visiting Nana and Papal which I don’t really mind it just sucks after we get home and we want her to return to her normal “behaved” self. Of course we are now in the two-year-old mode so maybe it’s adjusting to that too. Lehna has developed this very INDEPENDENT part of her personality where NO one can help her with ANYTHIGN and if you even SUGGEST it, it makes the entire situation worse and it’s basically like trying to reason with a stubborn mule. Of course I hear from my mom that this is EXACTLY how I was so maybe it’s just genetics… the poor girl.

Lehna has been pretty good with the baby for the most part. She wants to help all the time, which is kind of nice but if she doesn’t get the help just in the way she wants to throws a fit. So that’s been kind of driving me crazy but of course this IS an adjustment period so I just have to wait it out. She also has decided that ANYTIME that I am not with the baby is her time and she has decided to follow me around that house asking me a million times what I’m doing and how she can help. Cute and sweet but I don’t know if any of you have ever “experienced” help from a two year old but it usually makes the task take quite a bit longer, and you usually have to do it twice, b/c in the process they have managed to “undo” what you have already gotten accomplished. Again today might have just been a bad day so maybe I’m not being 100% fair to her but today was a BAD day in the fit throwing modes and the “helping” modes so it’s really affected her attitude, oh and she didn’t get a nap today so by 6 p.m. I was ready to put her in her room the rest of the night just to get some peace and quite. I didn’t lock her in her room or anything like that but I was EVER so grateful when she decided to conked out at 8:30 this evening. I was able to get the budget done, bills paid, AND blogging… so there you go. So enough about me whining about dealing with my two-year-old and let me get down to what I was doing for the past couple of days.

I am going to insert some pictures into the blog so you can see what Maya looks like and see recent pictures. The next couple of pictures are from Lehna’s two-year birthday I was finally able to get them off of my camera. The evening was pretty uneventful we couldn’t really plan anything in the weeks prior b/c we didn’t know if Maya would be making an appearance before or after her birthday so we decided just to have a quiet evening at home. We took her out to pizza hut b/c she loves to eat pizza and we had a cake and gave her a few things. This child needs no more toys so we got her a small train set and a basket full of precious moment’s items like a coloring book and a small doll for her to play with. Below are pictures from the birthday celebration. I realize that Lehna doesn’t have pants on… most of the time once we get her diaper changed we can’t wrestle pants back on her or she wants to do it herself and for some reason we didn’t get them back on her… so that’s why she’s pantless.

Lehna's Birthday Cake

"A Card for Me?"

"Is this MY Birthday?"

"I wish"

"I hope my wish comes true!"

The next group of pictures are from when we were in the hospital with Maya. We really didn’t take very many pictures b/c we were pretty tired and we just didn’t have the camera out as much for some reason. I feel bad I didn’t even get out the video camera when we were at the hospital. I really haven’t gotten the video camera out very much at all even with Lehna so I have been VERY bad in that respect which is really bad of me… you would think I would know better but I really am very bad in that respect.

Sweet Baby Sleep

My Family

We went to stay with Tait’s parents for the last couple of days so today was the first day back. We did get to go to grandmas for Easter and that was a good time. Lehna was able to hunt for eggs and she made out pretty good. We added her “findings” to her swing set fund and hopefully we will get her swing set in the next couple of weeks. Well after we got home from grandma’s we came to a surprise. Helen and Tanna put up a sandbox in the living room. Now I don’t know many grandmas’ that put up sandboxes in their living rooms but Lehna and Maya’s did. Lehna and Landyn had a good time playing in it. They would fling sand all over the carpet, couch, and table so after that point as you walked through the house it was like walking at the beach. Both Tanna and Helen figured they would keep most of the sand in the box and it wouldn’t get all over but that wasn’t quite the case. I mean both kids really enjoyed it so I guess it was worth the mess but I hope Lehna doesn’t expect ME to put up a sandbox in my living room b/c it just ain’t going to happen I don’t even like sandboxes on the outside not alone INSIDE!

Sand in the living room

While mom was here visiting we were able to get all the grandkids together so I wanted to share this picture with everyone. Getting all Three was kind of a crazy job but we managed to get it done.

Nana with her grandbabies

Also Lehna has really enjoyed holding Maya and we were able to get a picture of them together. So enjoy.

"I love my sister!"

We are going to have to meet with the lady from First Steps tomorrow since Maya didn’t pass her hearing test at the hospital. I talked to Dr. Patel Maya’s pedestrian when we visited there last week and she said that it’s pretty common with newborns it normally happens b/c they get fluid in their ear and it kind of blocks their hearing for a couple of weeks and eventually the fluid will drain out and she will be fine. She passed her hearing test in the left ear it was just her right ear that didn’t pass. She doesn’t “fail” it just she is referred to this First Steps place and they have to do additional testing. We are meeting with her tomorrow to ‘enroll’ use in to the program and then we will take Maya to Purdue where they will do additional testing on her. I am hoping to have more information on it tomorrow and since we have had her tested I think the fluid has drained out. I mean we won’t know for certain until they do the test again but we have to wait. I will keep you posted on it.

Well have a good evening and I’ll keep you posted on Lehna and Maya’s progress.

Thanks for reading about us.

One last picture for you…

Welcome Maya Elizabeth

Finally an UPATE!

Well it has been a week now since Maya has been in the world and I figured that it was time for an update to let you know just how Maya entered the world… of course G rated b/c who wants to read about gross nasty stuff.

On Friday March 30th about 6:30 I started noticing contractions and from all of the false alarms I really felt like this was going to just be another time of getting my hopes up. So I timed them for about 3 hours and then I called the doctor on call and it was Dr. Brown and he said that I should start packing. He said that if by the time I'm "ready" I’m still having contractions then it's time to come in. So I thought that was kind of funny since I had had my bag packed for almost 2 months. So Tait jumped in the shower and I sat in the chair with the passed out Lehna on my lap.

I called Helen in the meantime to let her know that we were going to go to the hospital so she could make plans accordingly since she was the person we had arranged to pick up Lehna. I told Tait that I wanted to wait to have Helen come b/c I just wanted to make sure that she wouldn’t make a wasted trip.

After we go to the hospital it was about 10:30 p.m. and Lehna was sleeping peacefully on Tait’s lap and I was strapped to the different monitors and we waiting patiently for things to progress. I talked the nurse who kept asking about Lehna and if we had made arrangements for her and we told her that we had talked to them and they were on their way.

We had a couple of good hours of contractions close together and things moving progressively. My nurse would come in and talk to me about the monitor and what the “contraction machine” (I know it has a more scientific name but I don’t know what it’s called) and she would tell me what was happening. At one point my contractions were getting pretty strong and I had some pain medication and unfortunately the pain medication did slow me down quite a bit my contractions started spreading out and they lessened quite a bit.

Helen, Tanna, & Landyn arrived and they pulled Lehna into the waiting room with them just to kind ‘wait and see’ what would happen. I had talked to my mom on the phone and told her not to come b/c I was afraid they were going to send me home and I didn’t want her to drive all the way from Wisconsin only to have to go back home. So by the time 4 o’clock rolled around the pain medication had worn off and my contractions were slowing down. Helen, Landyn, Lehna, & Tanna left to go to Williamsport to sleep for a couple of hours. I was pretty sad by 6-am b/c I figured that they were going to send me home, still pregnant!

When 10 a.m. rolled around the Dr. Brown came in and said that he was waiting all night for the call that I was ready to push and he said that he wanted me to get on with it already. I told him that I was ready to “get on with it” but the baby was being stubborn. He said that if I lived near the hospital then he would have no problem sending me home and waiting for the baby to come. But since I didn’t live in near that he would feel better if he broke my water b/c he didn’t want it breaking in the car home. I of course was VERY excited to hear this b/c I knew that I would have this baby in 24 hours or less! And I would DEFINTELY NOT be going home pregnant! So I called my mom and told her they were going to break my water and it was time for her to COME ON DOWN also we called Helen and let her know what was happening and they said that after the kids woke up they would come back.

By noon I was asking for the epidural b/c my contractions were so strong and they hurt pretty badly. I nurse said that we would have this baby by 3 o clock and I was excited she felt like it was going to be so soon.

2:30 p.m. rolled around and the nurse was starting to get frustrated she said that my contractions were starting to spread out. She said they were between 2-5 mins apart and they just weren’t staying anywhere near a “steady rate”, so she was perplexed she and increased my potocisn again. We waiting to see what would happen, and just like the nurse predicted by 3 p.m. it was time to push.

By that time everyone had arrived mom, Terry, Helen, Tanna, Lehna, and Landyn which I was excited about. The nurse checked me and called for Dr. Brown, a tech, and a table. Tait of course had just left the room to go eat… So I asked the nurse if they could call for Tait and she did. By the time everyone was assembled the doctor said that he wanted to see if I could push the baby out in one push since she was right there. Well I didn’t get it accomplished in one push it took three then Maya Elizabeth was in the world, and I was GLAD to finally see it come to an end.

So after a total of 21 hours from start to finish we had another beautiful baby girl. She is 8 lbs., 19 inches long. She has blonde hair and blue eyes so far. I think her hair looks a little wavy but it’s hard to say if it will stay that way or not. I do have a ton of pictures to put up but I have to wait to use Tait’s laptop since my camera won’t talk to the computer. So as soon as I get them up…

So Tait and I have been utterly spoiled this week I have had my mom all week she has been taking care of us and it has been so nice! Lehna has been pretty good with the new baby she wants to talk to her and play “tickle” her which is kind of funny. Today was the first time when I was holding the baby Lehna demanded attention from me at the same time so I held both babies at the same time. Which wasn’t too bad since Maya was fast asleep and Lehna wanted to watch T.V while laying on me. So overall it’s been kind of crazy around our house. I have been feeling really good overall I think that by the time Tait goes back to work in another week I will be ready to accept the challenge of having both kids for at least three days a week. It should be interesting; I’ll keep you posted on the progress. Until then have a great day and wonderful Easter!
